The MNNDL group at NUS studies the human neural bases of cognitive functions and the associated vulnerability patterns in aging and neuropsychiatric disorders using multimodal neuroimaging and psychophysical techniques. We are interested in the large-scale brain structural and functional networks in healthy developing and aging brain and symptoms-related changes in diseases such as neurodegenerative disorders and psychosis. Statistical, computational, and machine learning methods are developed to analyze and fuse multimodal neuroimaging data. By integrating longitudinal behavior, neuroimaging, and genotype data, our long-term goal is to investigate the interactions among brain network dynamics, behavior, diseases, and genotypes to develop non-invasive biomarkers for early detection, differential diagnosis, progression monitoring, and treatment design.

Purpose of the post

Job Responsible:

The Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) is a research institute of the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR). Quantum Innovation Centre (Q.InC) is an A*STAR-level entity hosted within IMRE. Research Group Overview: The Tissue Mimetics group at the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore (NUS) laboratory is primarily focused on developing next-generation tools for dental and craniofacial research. In particular, we focus on combining the expertise in stem cells, tissue engineering, microfluidics, organ-on-a-chip, 3D bioprinting, and non-invasive imaging to mimic various microphysiological features of tissues in health and diseased states and for translational regenerative applications.

Job Description: We are seeking a highly creative and self-motivated, full-time Research Fellow for a multi-disciplinary project on the fabrication of cardiac and vascular tissues using 3D bioprinting and microfluidic organ-on-chip strategies. The successful candidate will manage laboratory operations and work independently on a project involving advanced research techniques in biofabrication (3D bioprinting, microfluidics), 3D cell culture, molecular biology, 3D imaging, and image analysis. This research will be primarily conducted at the Faculty of Dentistry (NUS), and at collaborator’s labs at the Institute for Health Innovation & Technology (iHealthtech), and National Heart Research Institute Singapore (NHCS/NHRIS).

Responsibilities:

• Be proficient in 3D design, Bioink/hydrogel formulation, and 3D bioprinting of cells and tissues.
• Operate extrusion-based 3D bioprinters independently.
