The successful candidate will be recruited to perform challenging and interesting molecular and cellular translational neuroscience research on human neurodegenerative diseases.

Requirements:

• Doctorate’s degree in medicine or Life Sciences with wet laboratory experience, majoring in Genetics / Biochemistry & Cellular Biology / Pharmacology or related discipline.
• Previous experience with stem cell biology, transcriptional factors and gene expression modulations, protein-protein interactions, C elegan models, gene edition and bioinformatics data analysis would be added advantages.
• Able to work independently on experimental design, innovative and scientific thinking, multiple task and manuscripts composition.

We have a research position available in the Translational Therapeutics Laboratory of National Neuroscience Institute of Singapore (lab located in Neuroscience and Behavioral Disorders Program in Duke-NUS Medical School). We are looking for highly motivated candidates (BSc, MSc or Ph.D) who have a strong desire and passion to search for and validate novel molecular targets, biomarkers and therapeutic pre-drugs in multiple in vitro and in vivo disease models against neurodegeneration in Parkinson's disease and other human neurodegenerative disorders.

Highly meticulous researchers will be performing challenging and interesting molecular and cellular translational neuroscience research on human neurodegenerative diseases.

In addition, the candidate is expected to have independent working capability on experimental design, innovative and scientific thinking, multiple task handlings and manuscripts composition. The candidate should have effective and versatile techniques and experiences on handling proteins, nucleic acids, neuronal and stem cells, C elegan and as part of a team including enthusiastic, pro-active and co-operative approaches.

Job Requirements

• At least a Master degree in Life Sciences preferably, with at least two years of wet lab experience, preferably majoring in Genetics / Biochemistry & Cellular Biology / Pharmacology or related fields

Working hours:

Scope of Services:

*Prepare Science teaching & learning resources based on:
1. Workbook requirements
2. Teaching needs e.g. pull out plant model display when the P3s are learning about plants to be showcased in the lab
*Maintain cleanliness of the two labs and the equipment
*Arrange for feeding of the fish in the aquaponics system (both indoor and outdoor), pond at eco-garden
*Stock-take of equipment at least twice a year
*Assist in the inventory taking when the external audit asset team comes by
*Assist teachers in the lab during lab sessions if required
*Assist teachers in innovative learning lab for Science-related activities whenever possible including setting up of projector to play video in canteen during recess time

Contract Period: from 1 January 2025 to 30 November 2025

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

The service required are set out as follows :

• Prepare Science teaching & learning resources based on:

1. Workbook requirements

• Maintain cleanliness of the two labs and the equipment
• Arrange for feeding of the fish in the aquaponics system (both indoor and outdoor), pond at eco-garden
• Stock-take of equipment at least twice a year
• Assist in the inventory taking when the external audit asset team comes by
• Assist teachers in the lab during lab sessions if required
• Assist teachers in innovative learning lab for Science-related activities whenever possible including setting up of projector to play video in canteen during recess time
• Assist teachers in preparation of activities for Environmental and Science club
• Look into the display and loaning of Science books to the students on an ad-hoc basis, either in lab or in the canteen
• Help to assist in recess activities during Science department events such as integrated learning week
