Project Overview

This research project aims to grasp dynamic changes in hotel capital investments and their influences on tourism-related local businesses before, during, and after the pandemic on two geographic scales -- region (Asia-Pacific) and city (Singapore). This aim is outlined by the following three objectives:

• Examining the significance of sustainable development attributes in explaining the spatial distribution of new hotel development projects across selected cities in the Asia-Pacific region;

The Research Assistant (one-year contract) will undertake the following research activities:

• Meeting with the principal investigator (PI) and team members regularly;
• Supporting the progress of key tasks;
• Collecting and organizing international hotel investment and other urban spatial datasets
• Visualizing multiple urban tourism, transport, environment, and economic attributes on a geographic information system (GIS) platform; &
• Developing hotel location choice and small business birth models
• Exploring new software applications for spatial data analyses.

This Research Assistant position will be arranged based on the Urban Planning & Economic/Environmental Policy Research Team, led by PI Prof. Jin Murakami, with support from the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) Cluster/Green Economy and Sustainability Initiative in SUTD.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Studies, Economics, Business, Civil Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Science, or related fields*
• Strong data management and quantitative analysis skills
• Proficiency with programing, coding, and/or statistical software (e.g., Python, R, STATA)
• Knowledge and experience of GIS software applications (ArcGIS and/or QGIS)
• Interest in data visualization skills – preferred
• Sufficient report writing and communication skills in English

The National Heart Research Institute Singapore, based at the National Heart Centre Singapore, is currently offering a job opportunity to work with our Clinician Scientist in the area of cardiac imaging. The applicant needs to have experience in computer programming and be comfortable working with large imaging datasets coupled with multi-omics. There will also be opportunities to work with magnetic resonance physicist in sequence programming.

Requirements

· Doctorate degree (MD or PhD) or Masters (MSc) in computer science or related

· Experience in image processing and analysis in cardiac MRI is preferred

Job Purpose

This role drives the development and successful implementation of a highly effective Global Life Science and Healthcare sector product strategy for DGF Airfreight in the region. Collaborate with the Global-, Regional- and Country Product Heads and Sales to align the sector product strategy for the region. Take ownership of market and sector knowledge, leading the sub-function for the sector product within the DGF Region. Provide input and lead the implementation of the functional strategy to develop segment strategies and business plans. Enhance the performance of sector management, supporting business growth objectives in accordance with industry and market needs, division strategy, objectives, and Group guidelines and policies.

Key Tasks

1. Sector Product Strategy:

· Contribute to the sector product strategy in alignment with the overall product strategy, objectives, and policies.

· Drive operational plans, measures, and budgets to achieve defined results for the sector.

· Execute and implement the sector strategy and roadmap in relevant geographies.

· Produce, coach, and develop global win plans for the sector community and opportunities.

2. Product Development:

· Identify key trends in the industry and collaborate with stakeholders to develop innovative solutions.

· Establish regional sector-specific infrastructure and operations together with regional or country teams.

· Establish commercial and operational guidelines and processes to drive product growth & margins.

· Monitor competitor activities, develop segment strategies and business plans for the sector.

· Provide high-level advice within the sector and regions to counterparts globally.

· Stay updated with sector-specific regulations and standards and communicate any changes or updates to relevant teams.

3. Sector Business Development:

· Serve as the senior point of contact for sector-related customers or shipments within the community and region.

· Lead, organize, and control highly strategic business activities and product initiatives.

· Support business development, account management, and sales activities for the specific sector.

· Participate in business development opportunities, including QBR and RFQ activities, for the sector and act as product sponsor.

· Direct the development of marketing plans, determine research priorities, recommend sales channels, and provide direction for product promotion.

4. Operational Excellence:

· Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness for the sector.

· Foster a culture of continuous improvement and best practices sharing across the sector and industry management.

· Implement performance metrics and KPIs to monitor and measure operational performance, ensuring alignment with defined goals and objectives.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, optimize resources, and enhance overall operational performance.

· Identify and mitigate operational risks within the sector, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.

5. Product Quality & Compliance:

· Develop and implement quality controls and compliance measures to ensure adherence to sector-specific regulations, standards, and guidelines.

· Establish and monitor processes and procedures to ensure product quality and consistency across the sector.

· Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that sector operations meet all applicable compliance requirements.

· Provide guidance and support to the sector in maintaining a high level of quality and compliance in all operations.

Management Responsibility

· Develop a comprehensive EBIT growth plan and detailed financial projections for the sector product regionally.

· Oversee regional network capabilities and developments to ensure sector product quality and compliance.

· Collaborate with multiple project teams, promptly communicate resource needs to the Global Sector Product Head and the Regional Airfreight Head.

· Provide indirect management oversight, including dotted line responsibility for product members and coaching support.

The Centre for Population Health Research and Implementation (CPHRI) is a centralised platform for population health research, innovation, implementation and evaluation activities in SingHealth. CPHRI aims to seamlessly leverage data and technology to guide and support population health initiatives and accelerate the implementation of research findings in care delivery and improvement.

You will support the work of the Population-based, Unified, Learning System for Enhanced and Sustainable Health (PULSES) Centre Grant as well as other signature research programmes in the centre. You will assist the Principal Investigators on developing grant proposals and study plans. You will engage internal and external collaborators. You will supervise the junior research staff to perform data collection, analysis and interpretation. You will assist with preparation of abstracts/posters/manuscripts/reports. You will oversee the process and quality of the study execution and keep track of timelines and budget. You will lead a team of junior research staff and provide technical supervision.

Requirements

• PhD in Social Science, Biostatistics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Economics or related academic area
• At least 5 years’ experience in population health research
• Candidates with expertise in implementation science will be preferred
• Strong quantitative or qualitative research skills and proficient with advanced data analytics software (e.g. SPSS, STATA, SAS) or qualitative analysis software (e.g. Nvivo)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

You will play a pivotal role in the Heart Protection theme of the National Heart Research Institute of Singapore (NHRIS) at the National Heart Centre of Singapore (NHCS). Your responsibilities will include:

· Leading, executing and managing a public-private partnership programme.

· Initiating and coordinating key processes of the programme in collaboration with Principal Investigators.

· Providing valuable intellectual contributions and strategic insights for the overall programme and its projects.

· Engaging and managing key stakeholders, both internal and external, across hospitals, research institutions, and industry partners.

· Overseeing administrative tasks such as facilitating meetings, managing agreements, generating reports, and budgeting to ensure the smooth operation of the programme

Job Requirements

- Degree in Science, Health Science or its equivalent with a strong background in molecular and cell biology

- Minimum 1 - 2 years’ relevant work experience in healthcare or research setting

- Experience in managing budgets and supervising junior staff

- Relevant project management certification and familiarity with A*STAR reporting requirements would be an advantage

- Demonstrated project management experience, preferably in laboratory and finance management

- Experience in preparing and submitting grant proposals, including knowledge of grant variations, submissions, and reporting

- Able to work independently, coupled with effective problem-solving and organisational skills

Job Purpose :

• Assist the teachers in planning, developing, delivering and evaluating appropriate individualized educational services, learning programmes and instructions for special needs students in both self-contained and integrated settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in managing students in classrooms and in community-based activities
• Supervise and assist individual or small groups of students in activities/educational tasks set by teachers
• Assist teachers in preparation of instructional materials and/or classroom environment for lessons
• Provide support for students with MID, Autism and other developmental disabilities. Priority is to support these students to develop skills to enhance personal care and independence, and support daily lessons/activities in and beyond the classroom including student profiling.
• Work with functional committees to plan and implement school-wide educational and recreational programmes.
• Collaborate and consult with allied professionals, parents/caregivers and external agencies to ensure quality support and well-being of students.
