Essential Job Functions

The Assistant Manager, Exhibitions, is responsible for the development of multiple Permanent and Temporary Exhibitions. The role involves supervision of junior staff comprising imagineers and producers.

Key Responsibilities

- Conceptualize and implement exhibition experiences, encompassing content scoping, ideation, timeline and budget management, project oversight, script development, and stakeholder management to ensure successful and timely project delivery within budget.

- Conduct post-project reviews, collaborate with department heads to assess impact, employ formative and summative methodologies, communicate risks to the team, and work on risk mitigation.

- Organize cross-departmental events to foster engagement, ensuring smooth operations, and promoting high performance and well-being is a key aspect of the role. This includes organizing talks, forums, and competitions, providing training, conducting check-ins with staff, and promoting organizational culture.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a Degree in Science or its equivalent, along with a strong understanding or experience in scientific principles and/or research, science communication and project management. Experience in museum interpretive studies is an added advantage.

Other Skills/Abilities

He/She should possess a self-driven and creative nature, along with strong organizational and communication skills. You will draw on unparalleled access to the multi-disciplinary expertise of the Science Centre Exhibitions and Programmes. The job will include developing online programmes for informal learning in Science/STEM, developing programmes together with the Science Centre’s team of educators and playing a key role in inspiring students locally and globally.

Essential Job Functions

As an E-Instructional Designer, you will define, evaluate, and implement overall solution components for e-learning (LMS), including student profiling, personalized content delivery and portfolio building by using various e-learning tools including SCORM, interactives, peer reviews etc as appropriate.

You will need to embrace different styles of training techniques, including e-learning, videos, tutorials, and resource guides.

You will engage Science Centre’s exhibition and education teams to find verticals in Physical Sciences, Nature Sciences, STEM, “Just in time Science” and other areas such as STEAM and STREAM.

You will find adventurous ways to excite and engage learners across digital learning, enabling technologies, social media, gamification, mobile, VR, 3D, and other modes of learning.

You will produce instructional guides for navigating and for grading and ensure the course content brings about demonstrable learning outcome.

Requirements

The candidate must possess minimum 1 to 3 years of working experience in Instructional Design and in developing and delivery of online courseware and in working with LMS environment.

He/she must have extensive experience in developing creative and engaging training/content designing and development of learning content, methodologies, and delivery methods for online and in person (onsite). He/she should have knowledge of Web Services, APIs, Relational Databases and Basic Programming and be familiar with online training curriculum and solutions. The EOS/ASE Geodesy Group at NTU is searching for a Research Engineer II to work under the supervision of Prof Emma Hill on the role of tectonics in modifying regional relative sea level (RSL). The successful candidate will analyse geodetic data and conduct numerical modelling to estimate RSL related to past and future earthquakes and other processes of land-height change in Southeast Asia.

Further to this, they will work on projects aimed at effective communication of these results to policymakers and other stakeholders. They will investigate best practices for communicating probabilistic estimates of potential future impacts of earthquakes on RSL. The successful candidate will have a Bachelors’ degree in Earth Science, natural hazards, remote sensing, geodesy, computer science, data science, or a related subject. Antimicrobial drug resistance is a growing an alarming problem that poses serious challenges to the existing public health infrastructure of Singapore and of the rest of the world. Microbial pathogens are becoming more and more difficult to treat as they steadily gain partial and full resistance to last-line antibiotics.

Recalcitrant infections can add enormous costs and strains to health care systems that are already stressed. This is especially a concern in Singapore, where between now and 2030, the health care system will need to accommodate the costs associated with a population that will undergo an unprecedented age shift in which the number of residents aged 65 years or older will increase threefold. Altogether, there is an urgent need to develop new alternatives or compatible therapies to combat the growing problem of AMR.

About the Project

The performance-interpretability tradeoff (PIT) in data science and AI refers to the balance between how well a statistical/machine learning model performs, and how readily humans can comprehend it. This project investigates the nature and characteristics of PIT in discourse research, focusing on the following:

i) the (strategically) indeterminate nature of PIT

ii) PIT in time-based algorithms and discourses

iii) conceptual relationship(s) between PIT and ‘mixed-methods’ discourse research, with subsequent developments based on emergent findings.
