Working collaboratively with a team of population health scientists, geospatial scientists, and data engineers, the post holder will lead on building an agent-based simulation model for Singapore. A Postdoctoral position is available at the Berkeley Education Alliance for Research in Singapore (BEARS) with Assistant Professor Yanwei Lum. The goal of the project is to develop electrochemical systems for CO2 conversion and work with high sensitivity analytical tools that would be amenable for high throughput screening and reaction mechanism investigation. The candidate is expected to build model catalyst systems to investigate hypothesis and validate existing theories. They will also work in the framework of a larger team at BEARS for high throughput analysis and screening. Duties & Responsibilities

1. Perform materials synthesis and characterization.
2. Carry out electrochemical studies to determine electrocatalyst performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Contribute to developing efficient catalysts for thermocatalytic CO2 conversion to chemicals and fuels.
• Synthesis of solid catalysts and characterization of catalytic properties using advanced methods.
• Operating single tube and high throughput catalytic reactor systems and data analysis.
• Drafting manuscripts and research progress reports.
• Communication of results by presenting at project meetings.

Qualifications

• PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials.
• Strong knowledge of heterogeneous catalysis, material synthesis, and surface characterization.
• Previous experience in catalyst design for thermocatalytic CO2 conversion is an advantage.
