A Senior/Principal Process Development Engineer is responsible for developing or overseeing the development of chemical processes including low carbon processes as well as monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing processes in a pilot plant leading up to a technology transfer. He/she will perform process design, engineering and scale-up of in a Low-Carbon Technology Translational Testbed (LCT3) on Jurong Island leading up to a technology transfer. This role requires good understanding and knowledge of the underlying key process/chemical engineering and scientific principles of low carbon technologies and uses computer aided engineering tools such as simulators, process and plant engineering tools for process development and engineering. This individual thinks analytically to solve problems and improve existing methods and processes.

Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for providing scientific and technical direction and/or development, design, and scale up of carbon capture, utilisation and low carbon hydrogen technologies
• Responsible for developing new projects, including timelines, milestones, methodological approaches, expected results and necessary resources.
• Responsible for the executing or planning/directing of laboratory-based or pilot-based experiments to support process development, scale-up campaigns and process optimisation leading up to technology transfer
• Lead or support multi-disciplinary team of scientist and engineers through technical challenges and contribute to the successful completion of projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical or other related engineering fields.
• Possess at least 10 years of experience in process development and engineering with good knowledge on process control and safety in the process or chemical industry
• Excellent working knowledge on various process technologies, scale-up & scale-down and process intensification methodologies or principles
• Has good working experience with relevant computer aided engineering tools including simulation (eg. Aspen Plus, AVEVA, Gproms etc.), and the use of detailed process models to support process design, scale-up and process optimisation during operations
• Experience in collaborating and has good appreciation with other related disciplines eg. electrical and instrumentation, automation, process safety etc.
• Ability to plan and/or execute experiments at laboratory and pilot scale (scale-up/scale-down) to support process development, troubleshooting and optimisation
• Working experience in a chemical production facility and familiarity with regulations, codes and industry best practices would be a bonus

One of the projects including SEED data is ‘Diabetes studY in Nephropathy And other Microvascular cOmplications (DYNAMO-II)’. DYNAMO-II aims to determine the longitudinal relationship between retinal imaging parameters and long-term risk and progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and determine the predictive value of retinal vascular imaging measures in identifying patients at risk of CKD, and other adverse outcomes including renal failure, cardiovascular disease and deaths using both data-derived machine learning and retinal image-based “deep learning” algorithms with validation in different local and international cohorts. DYNAMO also includes a clinical cohort that recruits diabetic patients from clinics to predict the progression of CKD.

Program Administration and Management

• Participate actively in continuing education program within the organization, NCSS and other professional bodies to improve support services.
• Conduct in-house training programs to upgrade the professional knowledge and skills for relevant staff / parents / caregivers / volunteers in the organization to provide professional input to stakeholders.
• Submit monthly report and other related written reports to the executive director and school principal to support strategic operations.
• Review occupational therapy services to make quality improvement and changes.
• Collate and prepare High Need Grants documents.
• Conduct meeting with Allied Professional (AP) staff to review occupational therapy services for quality improvement and makes changes as needed.
• Prepare agenda for AP meeting with the Principal. Vet the minutes of AP assistant taken during AP meeting to track follow up actions and accuracy of report.
• Induct new teacher, volunteer, and teachers on work attachment to help them to understand AP services.

Professional Consultation

• Provide consultation to teachers and other related professional staff to improve students’ functional performance and skills.
• Liaise with various discipline involved in the rehabilitative treatment process. (e.g teachers, parents, principal, school administrator and professional staff to support student needs
• Liaise with various professional disciplines in the rehabilitative treatment process to improve student results.

Professional Growth and Ethics

• Participate in continuing education for professional development to provide practice that is consistent with best practice.
• Use professional literature, evidence based research, and continuing education content to make practice decisions.
• Use professional code of ethics and standards of practice to guide ethical decision making in practice.

Admission and Review

• Conduct screening of applicants for placement in school to support strategic operation.
• Assess the child’s numeracy/literacy skills, behavior, motor skills, and sensory issues to support placement for learning.
• Meet the parents to feedback on classroom observation to provide support services.
• Prepare the screening reports and meet the admission and review committee to discuss the outcomes of the application.
• Attend to walk-in parents and phone inquiries to answer query on admission.
• Attend to MAAP meeting for student placement
• Support teachers in managing students during crisis situation to support student needs.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Occupational Therapy recognised by the AHPC with 3 to 5 years clinical experience.
• Applicants the relevant qualifications with no working experience are welcomed to apply.
• Interpersonal skills, Classroom management skills, takes Initiative, effective communication, Passionate, Creative, Non-Judgmental
• Relevant work experience with children and young adults with intellectual disability would be an advantage
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
