Objectives of the Role:

• Maintain and manage a comprehensive database of wildlife conflict cases and use of glue traps, ensuring that accurate information is available for analysis and reporting.
• Investigate assigned cases on crimes against animals through site visits, observations and interviews in line with the organisation’s SOP.
• Document all visuals and investigation reports.
• You will be reporting to the senior investigations officer.

Responsibilities:

• Respond promptly and professionally to emails and inquiries from the public, providing necessary advisories to minimise human-wildlife conflicts.
• Maintain and update a database of wildlife conflict and glue trap cases received via email or rescue call logs, ensuring data accuracy and availability for analysis.
• Commute to sites for case investigations, conduct interviews, document information for assessment and outcome report.
• Clearly communicate outcomes to the stakeholders through a written report.

Project Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Associate to contribute to cutting-edge research and development in the field of soft and hybrid robotics. We will extend the research on soft robotics to the domain of wearable exoskeletons, by embedding sensors in the clothing of workers. For example, wearable soft robotic devices that include muscle, motion, and other vital signals can be used to detect natural motion during human movement and infer a person’s activities and intentions.

Job Description

• Perform fundamental and applied research on soft robotics, with particular emphasis on design, fabrication, and control of soft robotic manipulators for complex manipulation tasks.
• Develop novel control strategies, algorithms, and sensory feedback systems to enable precise and adaptive manipulation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components into functional robotic systems.
• Conduct experimental validation and performance evaluation of developed soft robotic manipulators.
