The NUS Centre for International Law (CIL) is inviting applications for a one-year Research Fellow position to contribute to the development and research of the International Dispute Resolution (IDR) programme. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to join our team, specializing in the hands-on experimentation and characterization of materials. The successful candidate will work closely with the research team to conduct materials characterization, perform electrochemical testing, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for lithium battery recycling. This role requires a candidate with hands-on experience in material science techniques and electrochemical methods.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform experiments and characterization of materials using analytical techniques such as ICP, XRD, and FTIR.
2. Conduct electrochemical analysis, including cyclic voltammetry, LSV and other related techniques.
3. Prepare samples for testing and ensure proper calibration and maintenance of equipment.
4. Analyze and interpret experimental data, providing clear and concise reports to the research team.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure experimental objectives are achieved.

Responsibilities

• Designing surveys – Ensure the operational feasibility and research validity of questionnaires.
• Executing surveys – Assisting or managing a team of interviewers / surveyors, allocating quotas and controlling output per interviewer. This includes conducting surveyor briefings, in-depth interviews (IDI) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs).
• Quality control – entails recalling, editing, coding and processing of questionnaires.
• Analysis & report writing – Use of SPSS for data analysis, report writing, presentation deck making and dashboard design
• Project coordination – Coordinating between teams and with clients to keep a project on time and in compliance with quality standards. Candidates with strong multi-tasking abilities preferred to ensure multiple projects at different stages can be run simultaneously to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

The RO position is to support the research work of the team that focuses on studying the role of immune system in eczema and allergies. The candidate will work on primary cells from cohorts and cell culture systems towards understanding immune pathophysiology of disease. Additional work involves cellular and stimulation assays with flow cytometry and FACS analysis along with imaging by confocal microscopy, and associated data analysis with statistical tested.
