We are currently recruiting a highly motivated Research Assistant/Associate in the team of Nanyang Assistant Professor Guan Xue Li. Our group is interested in understanding the roles of microbial lipids in human health and antimicrobial resistance. The Laboratory of Applied Human Genetics at the National Cancer Centre Singapore is a multi-disciplinary laboratory with specific focus on peritoneal malignancies and sarcoma. The successful candidate will work with Associate Professor John S. Ascher on environmental modeling of mosquito vectors and stinging wasps and bees and other insects of importance for public and environmental health under the CNRS@CREATE, SPACE project.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

Working with the appointment PI to validate as fit for use an existing specimen and community science dataset of insects of importance for public and environmental health, especially mosquitoes and stinging wasps. The appointee will then conduct species distribution modeling based on an existing pipeline already established for bee research and documented in a publication. The candidate will start with highest priority mosquito species such as Aedes albopictus and other well known species of public health importance will move on to other species as time allows.

The Duke-NUS Laboratory for Translational and Molecular Imaging (LTMI), Duke-NUS Medical School, is recruiting a Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow to lead state-of-the-art small animal imaging studies in Viral Infectious Disease. LTMI aims to develop local infrastructure and deep capabilities in the development of molecular imaging technologies for guiding the advancement and translation of new imaging biomarkers to guide novel therapeutics in viral infectious disease.

The successful candidate will lead pre-clinical imaging efforts to validate novel imaging probes that target potential biomarkers of viral infection and host response. He/She will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution and communication of research. Lead mouse model development and characterisation of viral disease.

The Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disorders (CVMD) Programme houses state-of-the-art technologies for profiling mitochondrial function and metabolic adaptations in human patients and other model organisms, and undertakes translational and clinical research in cardiovascular and metabolic disorders.

Prof Derek Hausenloy’s laboratory aims to discover new treatments for protecting the heart from acute ischaemia/reperfusion injury and for preventing heart failure. We use a translational approach to research comprising cell models, rodent models (atherosclerosis, acute myocardial infarction and heart failure), nanoparticles for delivery of therapeutics to the ischaemic heart, and clinical studies.
