Role Description:

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hair salon, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for clients and staff. This role includes managing staff, maintaining inventory, ensuring excellent customer service, and implementing strategies to drive business growth and efficiency.

Specific Responsibilities:
1. The trainee will be introduced to the salon's culture, mission, and values. Tour of the salon, meeting staff members. Overview of salon services and products. Introduction to salon software systems (appointment booking, POS, inventory management). Review of daily operations and administrative tasks.
2. The trainee will have training on health and safety regulations and compliance. Understanding customer service standards and policies. Introduction to basic financial management (budgets, expenses, sales tracking). Hands-on practice with salon software. Introduction to staff scheduling and management.
3. The trainee will undego an in-depth training on inventory management and ordering processes. Understanding supplier relationships and contract management. Shadowing director on staff scheduling, shift planning and payroll processing. Training on handling customer complaints and conflict resolution. Review of marketing and promotional activities. Understanding financial reports and basic accounting principles. Hands-on practice with inventory control and order placements. Assisting with customer service and front desk operations.
4. The trainee to have a training on effective communication and leadership skills. Understanding and developing staff performance evaluations and development plans. Assisting in conducting staff meetings and training sessions. Developing staff schedules and managing time-off requests. Participating in the recruitment process (interviews, selection). As a Operations Program Manager, your role purpose is to:

• Manage and implement specific Network Operations programs and projects, to ensure they are completed on time, within budget and to the agreed specification resulting in a positive impact on operations performance.
• Be the regional process owner and subject matter expert providing support, training and guidance to countries on key business processes
• Play a key role to identify, champion, develop and coordinate change requests on Ops process and operations toolkit, service quality, operational efficiency and operational cost improvement ensuring that performance meets Customer (internal and External) and Network expectations.

Key tasks include:

• Participate in Global workgroups and Program Boards in support of the achievement of the Program’s goals
• Gather and define business requirements including changes to current processes and applications to ensure business needs are met and enhanced.
• Lead and manage the development of solutions that meet the Program goals and/or change requirements. This will include multiple work-streams and projects.
• Provide specialist Ops process and Ops toolkit support and leadership to regional operations in the resolution of process, systems and service performance issues including the introduction of improved work practices
• Contribute in the development implementation of solutions ensuring appropriate operational process review and training
• Develop and drive the change management process with country teams to move from legacy to target operations business processes
• Communicate, interface and work with the respective groups/ stakeholders to achieve the defined goals.

Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent, preferably in a business, engineering, transportation and/ or project management-related discipline
• More than 5 years of experience with at least 2 years as a project manager
• At least 2 years of industrial engineering or process engineering experience
• Ideally previous experience gained with DHL with a comprehensive knowledge of the DHL Express network
• Familiar with Express Global SOP process
• Good understanding of transportation, express, import and export operations and regulations in the region
• Preferably have worked on Automation programs (like SATS, LT1, MHS Related Experience)
• Well-developed project/ process management, prioritising and analytical skills with strong business acumen
• Proven ability in report writing: able to prepare analytical reports highlighting and interpreting key business information
