A. VESSEL CHARTERING
· Manage and oversee all regional vessel fixtures for trade support.
· Ensure vessels fixtures are concluded with the most competitive market levels.
· Explore freight optimization options with all in house and third-party trades.
· Ensure all vessel fixtures are backed with the relevant CPA clauses protecting charterers.
· Ensure traders are fully kept abreast of all market fixtures and going fixture rates to help plan intended trades.
· Build and maintain close relationship and ties with ship brokers, technical owners, commercial owners, disponent owners and head owners.
B. CONTRACT MANAGEMENT
· Oversee Preparation of Contracts and contract counters with regards to agreed trade recaps and trade incoterms.
· Ensuring full alignment of Contract clauses as per agreed deal sheet and operative GTCs in company’s favour to minimize risk and costs (Demurrage, Laytime, Laycan, Legal etc).
C. TRADE FINANCE SUPPORT
· Work closely with Trade Finance team to fully understand the requirements of ops related documents to be produced under corresponding Import/Export Letter of Credit (L/C) formats for confirmation with counterparties for timely issuance of workable L/Cs prior to cargo delivery.
D. TRADE OPERATIONS EXECUTION
· Overseeing the handling of cargo operations efficiently from load to discharge ports.
· Managing and ensuring contractual quantity, quality and delivery date range are strictly adhered to.
· Liaise with counterparties (Trading/Shipbrokers/Owners/Terminal/Agents/Surveyors) to manage vessel nominations/acceptances, voyage/discharge orders, stowage planning, loading/ discharging berth schedules and operations, surveyor appointments, documentary and discharging instructions including discharging Letter of Indemnity (LOI), Heating requests etc)
· Managing In-Tank Transfer operations, Inter-Tank Transfer purchase and sale with counterparties and terminals.
· Working closely with Trader, surveyors and terminals in planning and managing inter tank transfer nominations from counterparties.
· Good knowledge and experience in handling cargo loss control issues, on ship and in tank.
· Ensuring all ops related invoices such as freight, inspection costs, agency and port costs etc are verified and processed for payments in a timely manner.
· Managing and giving a comprehensive weekly and monthly in-tank quantities and movement report.
· Providing operational support to traders in ensuring all contractual obligations are complied with.
E. DEMURRAGE AND POST FIXTURE CLAIMS MANAGEMENT
· Oversee the handling of all demurrage and ancillary ops related claims and recoveries, verify demurrage calculations, negotiating claims with Vessel Owners and trade counterparties to finalize claim amount for settlement.
· Close monitoring of incoming and outgoing payments for claims. Follow up and escalate where necessary
· Maintain a comprehensive historical and on-going claims record/register for reporting to HOD and management on a monthly basis
F. POST SHIPMENT CONSOLIDATION
· Post Shipment Consolidation: Manage/Update Shipment Excel Report (Load Details, Load and discharge window, incoterm, inspectors, load and discharge ports, load and discharge figures, Price and Costs).
· Managing and giving daily operations report to Line Manager and management.
G. RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT AND SOFT SKILLS
· Build and maintain effective relationship, communication and good rapport with colleagues, internal stakeholders, counterparties and external parties for efficient flow of all operations in achieving trade targets
· Good knowledge of Chinese market, counterparties, in-land operational trade flows, local stake holder management which includes agents, inspectors, port authorities, terminals, refineries etc
· Good command and usage of English language and basic Mandarin.
· Must possess a good team playing, listening, negotiation, time management, leadership and problem solving skills.
