This position will principally be responsible for the underwriting, administration and operation of an existing portfolio of Marine Cargo business in conjunction with and under the direction of the appropriate Marine Manager.

In addition to the existing portfolio, a focus on the development of the portfolio by generation of new business is also expected with the assistance of appropriate senior staff.

Areas of Responsibility

· Reviews new risk submission and renewals within assigned authority limits. Reviews endorsements on existing policies to identify any change in original coverages or amounts. Discusses and seeks direction from the Underwriting Manager and Marine Risk Management, where necessary.

· Evaluates, accepts, rejects, or modifies risks within established underwriting guidelines and authorities seeking guidance from the Underwriting Manager and Marine Risk Management, where necessary.

· Visit producers and promotes Chubb coverages, products, and services in accordance with the Marine Business Plan and under the direction / in association with senior management. Maintains liaison with an appropriate level of producer staff to obtain necessary underwriting information, promote satisfactory service relationship and to encourage the submission of new / targeted business. Answer general enquiries and correspondence from producers. Refers any problems or questions, when necessary, to Underwriting Manager.

· Provide assistance, consultation and advice on underwriting matters to Underwriting Manager and to Marine Risk Management, where necessary

· Assists with the production of standard reports on a regular basis as required.

· Coordinates activities with higher level underwriting staff and with support staff to assure valid and timely response to producers of quotations and production of policies, endorsements, certificates, renewal notices, and other administrative requirements. Assists support staff in production of such where required. Check and reconcile information as required.

· Maintain a high standard of knowledge by membership of and attendance at relevant professional associations, courses, and seminars.

· In conjunction with relevant managers, train and develop effective work team.

· Develop and maintain a continuous programme of self-improvement in conjunction with relevant management.

· Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.

· Create a Chubb market presence by active participation in the development of Chubb Singapore.

Purpose of the role

To execute trades and manage risk within a defined portfolio of financial instruments and staying informed about market trends and developments to make informed trading decisions.

Accountabilities

• Execution of buy and sell orders or pricing of liquidity in various financial instruments while adhering to the bank's trading strategies and risk parameters.
• Monitoring and analysis of global financial markets, economic indicators, news, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and assess market risks.
• Management and monitoring of the risk associated with the trading portfolio and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk management guidelines.
• Collaboration with research analysts and other teams to gather insights and information for trading decisions.

In your new role, you’ll monitor intraday system P&L and risk manage the trading book as required. You will participate in projects to optimise the client franchise and develop the product offering in order to improve profitability. You will collaborate with eSales team to grow the client franchise via data driven analysis. You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in this role like, experience in the FX market in a front office trading role along with wide understanding of the technology and infrastructure aspects to operate a high-performance algorithmic trading system. Being experienced with a mid to high level of scripting and/or coding skills (e.g. Q/KDB+ and Python/R) along with the ability to derive actionable insights from large datasets will be a key skill for this role, to operate confidently and independently in time sensitive situations, to ensure timely risk management. Having excellent communication skills will be to your advantage.
