Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth ceramics tutoring and guidance for all ceramics classes, inclusive of special technique classes;
• Ability to design lesson outlines for ceramic classes;
• Ability to sets up, clean, and demonstrate the use of pottery equipment and instruments safely and effectively, inclusive of kiln loading and unloading, and firing of ceramic pieces;
• Design and produce AIA ceramic products for retail and commercial purposes
• Plan exhibitions and events which includes artist workshops;
• Oversees and manages studio inventory, approving or facilitating purchases as needed;
• Monitor and ensure a clean and safe working environment, with regular upkeep of work area, equipment, supplies, and materials;
• Any other assigned ad-hoc duties.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Candidates with a minimum 2-years experience with ceramics teaching or equivalent
• Has a diploma or degree in 3D art-related qualifications, especially pottery
• Possess advanced knowledge of ceramics (Throwing, Trimming, Glazing, Slip Casting, Recycling Clay)
• Should be able to make sake sets and teapot sets
• Experience in Raku Firing and Wood Firing will be an advantage
• Passionate about working in the ceramics industry
• Meticulous, good organizational and documentation skills
• Should possess good leaderships skills, and has the ability to effectively manage a team
• Good communication skills and enjoy interacting with both customers
• Willing to work over the weekends and public holidays

On behalf of one of its clients in the wine industry, The French Chamber of Commerce is looking for a Senior Accountant based in Singapore.

You will be reporting directly to the Finance Manager in Singapore, focusing on the full spectrum of daily financial operations and accounting for the main company entities in Singapore and Hong Kong. You will work closely with respective management teams mainly located in France, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Key responsibilities (not exhaustive) include:

Accounting & Audit:

• Perform day to day accounts operations and bookkeeping operations, including processing data; reviewing of bank reconciliations automatically generated from the accounting system; payment of invoices, expenses claims and intercompany settlements; generating credit/debit notes and managing invoice disputes
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual closing activities for assigned companies and liaise with other departments, both within Singapore and with other regional offices
• Prepare and assist in annual statutory audit and group consolidation reporting
• Coordinate with outsourced accounting firms on management accounts
• Monitor cash transactions (e.g. identify receipts, reconciling group collection centre, check disbursements etc…)
• Verify supplier invoices and obtain approval for payment
• Assist in communicating and maintaining relationships with external parties (banks, outsourced accounting firm, tax agent, corporate secretaries)
• Assist the Finance Manager on all ad hoc assignments and projects as assigned

Budgeting:

• Assist in preparation of annual budget of operating expenses
• Assist in preparation and updating of monthly cashflow forecasts for cash monitoring purposes

Taxation:

• Liaise with tax agents on preparation of annual tax computation
• Prepare and review GST submissions and computations for quarterly GST filing
• Assist in transfer pricing study and documentations

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or equivalent, with strong practical accounting knowledge
• 5-8 years of professional experience in MNCs, with both accounting / tax experience, including working in a computerised accounting environment (supervisory/reviewing experience is an advantage). Experience with M3/Infor ERP system will be highly advantageous
• Fluent in English and Mandarin to liaise with Chinese employees. Ability to converse and write in French is an advantage to liaise with the headquarters.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills
• Skilled at establishing and cultivating strong relationships across different levels of the organisation and externally
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills
• Able to work under deadlines and pressure
• Experience in the wine industry or personal interest in fine wine is an advantage
