About the role

As an integral part of Neuroscience ACP Secretariat, he/she will be supporting someof the following duties*:

Grant Management

· Lead end-to-end grant management process, from grant application, budget management, to progress tracking and reporting

· Support on relevant legal matters such as contract management, MOU, etc.

· Provide support to strategic initiatives such as philanthropic engagements, external collaborations, etc.

Faculty Engagement and Development

· Facilitate faculty and non-faculty engagement and development

· Coordinate the end-to-end process for Academic Appointments, Promotions and Tenure

· Lead strategic outreach and mentorship programs

Drive Strategic Growth

· Drive growth of Neuroscience Innovation through initiatives such as culture building activities and events, strategic planning, program management, etc.

· Support the shaping and growth of Neuroscience Global Health

· Support adhoc strategic initiatives and special projects e.g. process improvements, digital transformation, etc.

Skills required

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and supervise the technical operations of the assigned vessels, including planning, scheduling, and monitoring of maintenance, repairs, surveys, inspections, and dry-dockings.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant rules, regulations, and standards, such as ISM, ISPS, MLC, MARPOL, SOLAS, etc.
• Liaise with the vessel managers, masters, chief engineers, and crew on technical matters and provide guidance and support as needed.
• Review and approve vessel reports, certificates, documents, and records, and maintain an updated database of the vessel status and history.
• Prepare and manage the technical budget for the assigned vessels, and monitor and control the expenditure and costs.
• Evaluate and approve the requisitions and invoices for spare parts, consumables, and services for the vessels.
• Coordinate with the procurement, logistics, and warehouse departments to ensure timely and efficient delivery of supplies and equipment to the vessels.
• Conduct regular visits to the vessels and perform audits, assessments, and evaluations of the vessel condition and performance.
• Identify and implement best practices, innovations, and improvements to enhance the technical efficiency and effectiveness of the vessels.
• Manage and develop the technical team and provide training and coaching as required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Certificate of Competency (COC).
• Diploma in maritime studies or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Superintendent or a similar role, preferably managing tanker vessels.
• A strong knowledge of the technical aspects of tanker vessels, such as machinery, equipment, systems, and operations.

Job description

Operations and Maintenance Regime (Preventive and Corrective Maintenance)

• Daily and Weekly Work Planning and Duty Roster

• Manage day-to-day functions of facility technicians and gather feedback and observations from routine inspections

• Guide and monitor Facility Technicians whenever help is needed to resolve facility / building issues while ensuring Workplace Safety

• Prepare the maintenance schedule and arrange contractors for servicing

• To ensure all preventive, corrective maintenance and ad-hoc works are duly carried out to ensure facilities and Fire Safety Equipment are in good working conditions

• To maintain and schedule the periodic maintenance and servicing for Ammonia and Freon Plants compressors, pumps and all equipment.

vessels assigned, typical 3-5 Gas vessels.

• To ensure vessel/s comply with all relevant rules & regulations with special emphasis on the

ISM code, the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standard as well as flag state, port state and the

industry's special requirements and regulations, and render support to ships as appropriate.

• During the absence of a Vessel Manager, the Fleet Manager in the respective Group assumes

the responsibility or delegate another back up vessel manager.

• Give support on matters related to technical operations as required.
