JERA GM is implementing a series of new IT systems to reduce its reliance on its shareholders for IT services and to enable the rapid growth into a global leader in the trading of fossil fuels.

At the core of the system landscape is a set of vendor systems that support critical business activities such as trading, risk management, pricing, and logistics. JERA GM have and will continue to make significant investments building on top of these systems to tailor them to the specific needs of its business. Up until now, this work has been performed by teams of consultants. JERA GM would like to develop an in-house capability, so they can be self-sufficient in the ongoing development on this platform.

This in-house capability needs to be able to extend, customise, configure and integrate these systems to meet the ongoing needs of the business. The Core Platform Software Engineer will:

• Work to obtain excellent business knowledge of the full transaction cycle within a multi-commodity energy trading environment such that they can converse directly with users and other stakeholders with minimal hand-holding from Business Analysts.

• Develop new features on the company's credit system (Cubelogic) and ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) system to support the company's growth (new products, new processes), in a Python/Azure (Databricks & ADF)/C# / SqlServer environment.

Job Description

As a Senior Associate, you will be based in the Singapore office and be given exciting opportunities to provide Singapore global mobility services to internationally deployed staff in and out of Singapore across a variety of industries. This will also be a springboard to develop your consulting and advisory competencies.

● You will manage and work with an exclusive portfolio of clients who have a varying number of internationally deployed staff in and out of Singapore

● You will deliver a series of tax services to our clients – including managing tax compliance matters from end to end for companies and their expatriate employees, developing effective tax minimisation strategies, identifying tax planning opportunities to minimise tax costs and cross-border tax matters and managing client relationships. ● Possess good analytical skills to analyse individual and employment tax laws including conducting tax briefings to expatriate employees.

● Be proactively involved in marketing and business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients

● Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges and perspective on key global trends including globalisation, and how they impact the firm and our clients

● Coach peers and fellow team members to encourage them to take ownership of their development

Requirement

● The ideal candidate possesses a tertiary qualification in any discipline

● 2+ years of relevant experience for a senior position. Candidates with less experience may be considered for an experienced associate role

● Self-starter and learner with the ability to demonstrate resilience, self-motivation and a positive can-do attitude ● Ability to confidentially deal with demanding situations, various stakeholders and requirements under stress and time pressure

● Clear, articulate and confident written and verbal communication skills

● Able to multi-task, apply and replicate skills and knowledge learnt in actual work fast

● Demonstrate good project management, problem solving and analytical skills as required to work in teams

● Accountability and taking ownership of work

● Ability and/or a proven record of success with automation and digitization in a professional services environment including innovating through new and existing technologies, and working with large complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools

● Exposure to pricing, client value and the negotiation process - including reviewing contracts and finding opportunities to introduce new pricing options

Responsibilities

• Handle monthly accounting activities for loan products, investment portfolios, and perform reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely month-end closings.
• Review and validate daily journal entries, bank reconciliations, and oversee the work of junior team members.
• Generate and submit monthly and quarterly management and statutory reports
• Address inquiries and support requests from internal and external auditors.
• Compile annual budget reports.
• Take on any additional assignments as directed by the management

Requirements:

• Possess at least a Degree in Business, Banking, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience in a Bank or Financial Institution
• Good team player and able to work independently.
• Good time management skills and able to meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Excel (Macro) will be an advantage
