Job Description

• Carry out troubleshooting and corrective action of instrument breakdown or failures to find out the root cause and best solution in order to restore the functionality get back to normal
• Respond to technical queries from operation personnel and provide advice/solution according to best engineering practice to address issues which affect the operation of the power plant
• Follow C&I work instructions and propose changes for improvement where necessary
• Lead the execution of shutdown works for instrumentation to ensure completion of shutdown work on time
• Work closely with various sections to coordinate cross-functional maintenance works
• Perform risk assessment prior to start of work and conduct on-job risk assessment to identify residual risks associated with the planned/unplanned work
• Monitor spare parts and inventory for critical instrumentation to ensure availability when required in order to minimize unplanned outages. Establish new inventory/cataloging where necessary. Update information in the inventory to ensure that it is relevant for the current operation.
• Provide technical inputs in full cycle of procurement processes for materials and service requisition where required so that all technical requirements are addressed properly to protect company’s interest
• Identify, study, propose, and implement area for improvement in the field of instrumentation engineering to enhance operation and improve overall equipment reliability
• Supervise on-site contractors/additional supplier’s C&I technician(s) as well as C&I vendors to perform site works, review their work procedures and instructions to ensure compliance to achieve highest quality of work in a safe manner
• Participate actively in any meeting, discussion and initiative by team which is relevant to the job role and business needs in order to safeguard company’s interest
• Populate inputs into the Computerized Materials and Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure data and history of equipment maintenance activities are captured accurately. Provide inputs to Planning Engineer with regard to instrument maintenance activities for consolidation

Job Requirements

• Possess a degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or Electronics and Electrical Engineering with at least three (3) years of working experience in the instrumentation field, or a diploma in the same fields with at least seven (7) years of working experience in instrumentation field
• Proficient in the codes and standards in the power plant industry i.e. BSI, ISO27001, ANSI, IEC, IEEE, etc.
• Strong interpersonal skills, a team player and able to work with all levels of management and multinational staff
• Hands-on experience in field instrumentation and sensors of different makes
• Proficient in power plant DCS and HMI systems, specifically experience with ABB Advant DCS, GE Alspa DCS will be an advantage
• Proficient in any power plant PLC control system
• Proficient in the P&ID, loop diagram, process functional flow diagram and familiar with gas turbine / steam turbine operations and protection concepts
• Cyber security knowledge in Operation Technology will be an added advantage

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DESCRIPTION

• Support Logistics department in the management of Lean Transformation programmed through the implementation of Lean initiatives and Kaizen events.
• Lead and champion LEAN, quality improvement and change management vis-à-vis the alignment with the company’s business goals.
• Facilitate and drive Lean implementation across the company through the development of training framework, project cycle framework, etc; and guide the Lean teams in project implementation to achieve the project goals.
• Review and drive Lean standardisation and consistency approach with respect to workflow and problem resolution processes.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders in executing and implementing existing or new policies and procedures as well as to ensure company procedures, processes and practices are in compliance with company standards and regulations.
• Lead the team in measuring and analyzing the effectiveness of improvement processes, including performing benchmarking exercise against industry standards.
• Review and establish Lean accreditation framework to audit Lean value stream activities at business units.
• Review and establish Lean role mandate for all levels of the organization.
• Review the organization’s Lean capability needs and work with the organization to establish the coaching requirements of Lean trainers, facilitators, specialists and staff to sustain high standards of staff proficiency.
• Assess and certify in-house Lean trainers and facilitators upon completion of required training and demonstrated competencies.
• Expand and sustain the Lean deployment efforts through establishing Kaizen and continuous improvement events.
• Gather data and compile meaningful reports for customer data analysis and internal data quality scoring.
• Analyze customer and campaign data - focusing on data that accurately measures actionable results.
• Develop ongoing and ad-hoc reports to track key performance metrics, Lean transformation progress.
• Assist in creating and maintaining client-facing & internal business-reports/dashboards.
• Reviewed documents for completeness, accuracy, and authenticity by performing quality/lean reviews and complying with document control procedures and any relevant documents.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Senior Management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Business or relevant quantitative disciplines.
• More than 3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally in Lean implementation and sustainmentStrong expertise in Lean principles, and is the go-to person to seek advice in Lean methodologies, including value stream design, implementation and sustainment.
• Excellent project management skills, detailed and merticulous.
• Proven leadership success in driving Lean in a large organization.
• Great leadership with good interpersonal skills in leading and motivating a team, influencing and driving changes across operations, business units and customers.
• Demonstrated experience with development processes- particularly design controls, risk management (ISO Standards), and documents/process controls.

1. Lead and support QC team for daily QC activities by ensuring timely analysis, documentation, and review of RM/PM/FP/IPC/Stability and Process validation samples as per predefined standards.
2. Write and / or review controlled documentation related to laboratory operations or testing such as SOP's, analytical protocols, analysis reports, forms and validation documents.
3. Ensure compliance with FDA/USP/EP/ICH/ChP regulations and internal controlled procedures in the QC Laboratory.
4. Ensure readiness of QC Laboratory in internal / external audits.
5. Maintain data integrity in Quality Control activities and ensure appropriate traceability.
6. Initiate change control documents.
7. Lead and participate in stability program, method validations, technical transfer, method transfer and validation / qualification activities at the site.
8. Participate in New Product Introduction activities.
9. Lead and participate in laboratory investigations. Document laboratory investigation activities or review and approve laboratory investigation reports.
10. Participate in site corrective action / preventive action (CAPA) program. Ensure timely completion of all commitments made under QMS.
11. Lead and participate in key performance indicators for improving laboratory efficiency, monitoring equipment performance.
12. Lead QC Department training program by imparting training to new staff and comply with Analyst Qualification procedure.
13. Escalate the quality events, trends as appropriate to QC Head.
14. Remain abreast of current regulatory, pharmacopeia and cGMP trends.
15. Serve as subject matter expert on laboratory instrumentation and compliance issues.
16. Lead the QC team, evaluate competencies, assign responsibilities, monitor performance, counsel and provide guidance. Plan & monitor the training and development requirements, motivate staff appropriately to build a committed, motivated & competent team.
17. Participate in personnel decisions (interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, termination, staff development, improvement plans) regarding subordinate staff.
18. Maintains a safe laboratory environment by implementing recommendations made by EHS.
19. Initiate CAPEX for equipment purchases.
20. Support in budget preparation for QC Laboratory.
21. Any other activities as and when assigned by the Superior.

EDUCATION:

Degree in science or related discipline (e.g. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering).

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 8 years of quality control experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in managing team.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

1. Possess working knowledge of GMP in the pharmaceutical industry.
2. Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, good verbal, and written communication skills.
3. Working knowledge of qualification, calibration and operation of laboratory equipment such as HPLC, GC, FTIR and Dissolution equipment.
4. Working knowledge of method development, validation, verification of analytical method.
5. Familiarity of 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
