Responsibilities

• Understand complex real-world problems and leverage domain knowledge to develop reliable models
• Strategize ways of constructing training datasets that are representative, diverse and free of bias
• Continuously review model performance with sharp analytical skills, identify potential issues and improve them iteratively
• Optimize workflows and processes, as well as develop useful tools to boost the efficiency and scalability of routine tasks
• Provide requirements for new or existing internal tools to improve internal analytical capabilities, pipelines and platforms
• Be an expert in communicating insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operation Research, or a related quantitative Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• At least 2 years of experience with building machine learning and predictive model
• Familiar with Python is a must
• Familiar with essential data science libraries, including Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, Scikit-Learn and Matplotlib
• Sound knowledge of popular deep learning frameworks, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, MXNet, Caffe, etc
• Strong problem-solving mindset, down-to-earth attitude, passion for machine learning and everlasting curiosity to learn

Job Description & Requirements

• Handling full spectrum of corporate secretarial duties for our clients which includes but not limited to company incorporations, striking off of companies, preparations of directors' and shareholders resolutions

Requirements:

The Senior Performance Actuary will assist the Head of APAC L&H Performance in monitoring and steering the performance of SCOR’s APAC L&H portfolios. The role will play a key part in the adoption, analysis and promotion of Performance KPIs that will drive the performance measurement of the business. Measurement, analysis and communication of these Performance KPIs with the BU will be a key responsibility. Other responsibilities include analyzing and reporting quarterly financial results, managing financial planning and forecasting, conducting expense analysis, and providing ad hoc business analysis for senior management.

This role requires a strong technical understanding of the IFRS 17 framework and underlying cash flow modeling methodologies. Additionally, the candidate must be an effective communicator, capable of engaging with key stakeholders, including reserving and finance teams, as well as business units.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Communication, stakeholder management and change management:

• Ensure that the finance view of performance is clearly communicated within finance and L&H
• Promote the adoption of new Performance KPIs explaining the drivers and implications clearly to all stakeholders
• Support the Head of APAC L&H Performance in leading change management in relation to the measurement of the Performance of the business
• Provide effective and timely communication of financial performance results to management
• Communicate within Finance teams to ensure consistency of understanding and messages

Performance analysis:

• Measure and monitor Performance of the business using Performance KPIs
• Perform the quarterly financial analysis process for IFRS 17 with strong business acumen including detail variance analysis (actual vs plan, actual vs prior year) and the underlying business drivers
• Perform the landing process in collaboration with Business, Reserving and Technical Accounting teams to identify the early business developments for the quarter and timely execution of business steering where relevant
• Collaborate with other finance functions to synergize and streamline the flow of analysis and business message consistently
• Streamline the quarterly financial performance reporting to enhance operational efficiency and the depth of analysis.

Performance Analysis of specific actions:

• Prepare the performance analysis of any specific inforce actions that are under consideration
• Ensure that the impacts on Performance are clearly understood and communicated – both for current and for prospective periods
• Contribute to any specific analysis of the business as required

Forecasting of financial performance:

• Forecasting of financial performance for operating plan and full year landing update purposes
• Perform the production process of IFRS 17 Operational Planning for the APAC markets to ensure timely submission, good data quality and documentation of business drivers / key risks to plan
• Provide effective communication of plan progression for each iteration of operating plans and the corresponding plan assumptions / key risks to plan.

Transformation and simplification:

• Responsible for simplifying and transforming relevant processes such that majority of time is devoted to analysis of results versus production of figures (80/20 split expected between analysis/production)
• Contribute to development of tools within context of wider group developments and to adoption of available technology in order to maximise the efficiency of our processes.

Required experience & competencies:

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in actuarial, accounting, reporting, data analysis, or insurance audit.
• Ideally a qualified (or near-qualified) Actuary with strong knowledge of IFRS 17.
• Strong analytical and data management skills.
• Proven experience in communicating complex financial information to multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to address issues from a macro perspective and delve into details when necessary.
• Strong multi-tasking abilities, with a preference for candidates with good project management experience
