Position Summary

The Vessel Managers are the ‘front line’ operators heading their ship management teams. Vessel Managers are fully supported in their role by Marine & Technical Services, HSEQ, Marine Assurance, Marine HR, and Financial Analysts.

The Vessel Managers will have full responsibility and accountability for the success of the operations and people on board their vessels. The measure of our success will be achieving all KPIs on a consistent basis, meeting the business unit expectations, and upholding the company brand.

Major Responsibilities

• Treat health, safety, and environment as top priority.
• Ensure vessels are operated in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, ensuring compliance with class, statutory and company requirements.
• Provide day-to-day technical and operational support and guidance to assigned vessels.
• Management of vessel budgets and operating expenditure.
• Monitor vessel performance and ensure follow up action. Carry out regular review of vessel management reports for vessel operations and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
• Fully responsible for vessel dry-dockings and major scheduled & unscheduled repairs. This includes planning, execution, and review of all projects.
• Set clear goals and expectations and coach and develop Masters, Chief Engineers in line with competence and performance management objectives. Participate in interviews and make recommendations regarding new-hires and promotions.
• Act as the main contact for commercial and voyage coordination for assigned vessels.
• Carry out regular vessel visits to confirm condition and compliance with company Operating Standards and provide senior management with vessel condition reports.
• Ensure that through regular ship visits, engagement with ship senior staff, utilisation of the company’s maintenance management system and service bulletins, all ship borne equipment is always maintained to the highest levels, including fabric maintenance of the vessels under remit.
• Drive vetting performance onboard assigned vessels. Work with Marine Assurance and senior ship staff to ensure vessels are always prepared and ready for vetting inspections. Ensure timely and accurate closure of any vetting findings thus maintaining vessel vetting status.
• Working with ship staff, Fleet Support Officers, Business Development, and Financial Analysts to ensure that all legislative requirements and yearly maintenance are captured in the budget process, such that all budgetary timelines are met for both internal stakeholders and external customers, where applicable attend annual OPEX Budget meetings with customers.
• Where appropriate and in accordance with individual customer requirements and at the direction of the Fleet Manager, represent the company at required annual performance meetings, customer interface meetings, JV partnership meetings and industry specific project forums.
• As required by senior management, undertake additional tasking out with normal job responsibility to support the needs of the business.

Requirements

• Valid or expired Maritime Certificate of Competency (Master/Chief Engineer Unlimited) or relevant experience as Vessel Manager of Gas Carriers.
• Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills.
• Knowledge of technical operations for the vessel types managed (Gas Carriers).
• Knowledge of propulsion plant onboard vessels managed (Dual fuel diesel engine - Wartsila and/ or ME-GI).
• Knowledge of cargo containment system, cargo handling equipment and systems on board vessels managed (Cascade reliquifaction system).
• Experience of working on semi-refrigerated or fully refrigerated gas carrier as a senior officer.

Exclusion:

As the vessels to be managed are ocean going gas carriers, candidates with experience from either working on or managing off-shore vessels such as OSV, PSV, AHT or experience from working in shipyard only may not be considered for the position.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Administration

• Oversee the finance department and accounting systems.
• Coordinate audits and ensure proper filing of tax returns.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

• Ensure timely reporting of management accounts, statutory accounts, and tax returns.
• Liaise with external auditors for annual audits.
• Ensure compliance with group policies, GAAP, and local laws.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Manage the annual budget and financial forecasts.
• Prepare regular financial planning reports, including profit and loss and cash flow forecasts.

Treasury Management:

• Oversee cash flow planning and investment management.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a strong understanding of accounting systems and tax regulations.
• Experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance.
• Good Leadership and communication skills.

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the company and ensuring departments deliver quality services to clients
• Establishing goals that challenge the organization to achieve them, and communicating these goals to the team

The Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) is a trade union of employers. Your responsibilities include:

• Sense-make and analyse strategic labour policies or recommendations to address issues faced by employers or specific groups of employees in the labour market identified through the research or forecast of labour trends.
• Monitor and interpret global and local trends, as well as socioeconomic data of the labour markets, with a view of creating novel upstream policy solutions through labour policies.
• Study and develop models to project and explain future national manpower scenarios, intelligence, and other driving forces and critical uncertainties shaping Singapore’s economic and manpower environment through partnerships with academic institutions, tripartite partners and government agencies.
• Design and conduct research and analysis to evaluate and forecast employers’ position on identified labour guidelines and regulations.
• Adopt methodologies to enhance policy development and stakeholders’ engagement.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Social Sciences (political science, sociology, organisation psychology, etc) or other related disciplines. Fresh graduates are welcomed. An interest in international labour and experience in planning regional/ international events is a plus.

Finance Manager

Role Description

This is a critical leadership position reporting directly to and mentored by the Managing Director. This role encompasses all aspects of corporate financial management for the Enviably Me Group of Companies and is also part of the core leadership team that will provide support and advice to the MD on mid and long-term direction of the business. They include Financial Analysis, Banking Facility and Relationship Management, Treasury/Cash Flow Management, Accounting/Internal Controls/Due Diligence, Business Cost Management and Corporate Structure. The work and company environment will be fast-paced, dynamic and covers both commercial and back of house aspects of the business. The right Candidate will be groomed to Financial Controller position.

Specific Responsibilities

1. Financial Analysis. Support the MD and commercial team in ensuring that our core business activities are on strong financial footing. This will include FA work on retail sales, boutique shops, major promotions, new brands or new businesses
2. Banking Facilities/Relationship. Manage multiple banking facilities and corresponding relationships with our panel of banks
3. Treasury/Cash Flow. We are a cash flow intensive business. Managing this well is critical to funding our business growth
4. Accounting/Internal Controls/Due Diligence. Work with external accountant on bookkeeping and establish clear SOPs on internal controls. Also required to perform financial due diligence work when we take on new suppliers, new brands and new retail partners or distributors
5. Corporate Structure. Advise and aid the MD to implement the right corporate structure for a fast-growing business and organization
6. Overall owner of the company’s Oracle Netsuite / Odoo Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP) systems and processes

Role Requirements

1. 5-10 years proven and relevant experience in above areas of financial expertise
2. Strong people, interpersonal and leadership skills are highly important for Candidate to be successful for this position
3. Absolute personal integrity and proven ability to handle highly sensitive information in a mature manner and in full compliance with confidentiality requirements

• Handle full set of accounts

• Oversees all daily accounting activities which include preparation of journal entries, accounts receivables, accounts payable and fixed assets maintenance. Ensure timely billing to stakeholders and compliance with AR & AP procedures by generating and raising invoices, debit, and credit notes.

• Monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.

• Provides financial reporting to management

• Acts as a liaison and coordinates with the relevant regulatory authorities on various statutory

• Ensures all statutory and GST/tax returns are prepared and filed in an accurate and timely manner

• Oversees the annual statutory audit and preparation of annual accounts/ financial statements and reports for compliance with regulations and relevant financial and accounting standards.

• Manages cash flow forecasting and control processes.

• Maintains organized set of detailed records and files to document all financial transactions.

• Reviews, recommends and implements improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
