SCOPE OVERVIEW

• Ensure the timely and accurate processing of policy payments and commissions, adhering to established procedures and deadlines.
• Support the month-end closing process, including reviewing commission and referral reports, preparing journal entries, and posting them to the general ledger (Oracle).
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure prompt resolution.
• Ensure all insurance fund transactions are accurately recorded and reported, in compliance with the organization’s fund management policies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and reconcile interfund transactions, ensuring proper tracking and timely resolution to maintain accurate fund balances.
• Ensure compliance with internal control policies and regulatory standards, safeguarding the organization’s financial assets.
• Assist in the preparation of audit documentation and work closely with external auditors to ensure the smooth completion of audit.
• Support Operations and Customer Care departments by furnishing required information timely to prevent customers' compliant.
• Identify gaps in financial controls and proactively develop strategies to mitigate potential risks.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting or equivalent

Job Purpose:

This is a 6 months contract role. The job purpose of the Junior Operations Analyst role is to provide support to the Head of Operations in the department daily operations. Undertake designated activities within the department to ensure service standards are achieved and risks managed. Be responsible for carrying out a range of demanding clerical, reconciling, data administration and control / monitoring services and duties, in order to ensure timely delivery of a quality service to clients, other Bank ABC units and departments in line with agreed service standards and within budgets.

Main Responsibilities:

· Primary person to support Head of Operations to respond to client instructions, internal stakeholders and Bahrain processing team for transactions relating to trade finance, bilateral and syndicated loans, remittances, Money Market deposits and other Treasury products.

· As directed, support/undertake the timely and accurate delivery of all requested tasks and initiatives as part of the daily operational work assigned by the HOD.

· Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support.

· Ensure that the work processed by self and the team adheres to all specified Bank processes, procedures, standards, and relevant external requirements.

· Identify and suggest improvements to new and existing processes / procedures / systems and the way in which the team operates to improve service quality and process efficiency.

· Maintain up-to-date awareness of market conditions, bank products and services to ensure that best practice is adopted where required.

· Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new or upgrades to existing IT systems and new products including the performance of robust user testing in accordance with bank standards.

· Prepare periodical reports and escalating irregularities to management and other regulating units/parties.

· Provide back-up cover for other colleagues absent due to sickness, training, annual leave etc.

· Recommend and implement changes to the way in which the team operates to improve service quality and process efficiency.

· Respond to a range of demanding enquiries, clarifying customers and other departments/units understanding of the information being given.

· Undertake duties at a similar or higher level as required.

· Undertake delivery of designated activities in order to provide an effective service to other departments/units in accordance with agreed service standards.

· When required support line management with the implementation of changes in own work area.

Job Requirement:

Knowledge

· Good understanding of the risks and attributes of the Group’s key products, services, operations, and technology gained from hands on experience in operational roles.

· Strong knowledge of MAS regulatory requirements for the Branches products, services and operations.

· Self / Work Organization: Knows how to prioritize tasks and diarize effectively to achieve deadlines. When appropriate co-ordinates and allocates tasks, ensuring full and effective use of resources available.

· Keyboard / Software Applications: Has a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office software including Visio and systems appropriate to the role and can input and extract information to provide a variety of reports.

Education / Certifications

· Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields Finance, Banking, Accounting, Business or Risk Management

Experience

· Minimum 3 - 6 years banking experience in Commercial Banking (Trade, Loans, Treasury)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide administrative support to ensure overall efficient operation of the audit team
• General administrative duties such as preparing, sorting, scanning and filing of
  documents mails and emails, etc
• Assist with the preparation of audit engagement letters, etc
• Collaborate and work with the department’s stakeholders in providing updates to the
  wider team
• Assist with the preparation of, and disseminating the audit bills to client
• Assist with the collections of Audit bills and keeping the Audit team’s aging in check
• Coordinate staff activities
• Act as the point of contact between Staff and internal/external stakeholders
• Manage emails including checking incoming/outgoing emails and following up as
  necessary
• Schedule and coordinate appointments and meetings
• Prepare reports and documentation for meetings and appointments
• Assist with other ad-hoc administrative and project requirements as assigned by the
  Managers

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is of advantage for this

Job Purpose

Looking for an experienced Hadoop admin to join the Group Data function and manage the Hadoop based big data platform.

The role will be responsible of day-to-day operations of the big data platform. This includes monitoring, system upgrade, incident troubleshoot and service restoration, security patching, deployment, capacity management, etc.

The Job

Platform Upgrade and Maintenance

· Conduct the development and implementation of upgrades, and maintenance of the data platform

· Conduct timely patches based on vulnerabilities findings

· Monitor the platform and identify any performance gaps

· Optimize the platform infrastructure to meet scalability, performance, and security requirements

Capacity Management

· Monitor the utilization of the data platform and plan for any expansion if required

Issue/Incident Management

· Troubleshoot and fix the issue based on pre-defiled SLA

· Restore the services in case of system/service downtime based on pre-defined SLA

· Provide timely update to the users on the situation

· Escalate to management based on escalation matrix

User Access Management

· Onboard and offboard users to the platform based on the approval sought

· Conduct regular review of user accounts and take necessary actions to ensure users are valid and active

· Provision user access based on the approval sought

Data Security and Privacy

· Implement robust data security measures to safeguard sensitive information within the data platform

· Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards

Deployment

· Conduct deployment of data pipelines developed by data engineers

· Participate in the creation of standards, guidelines, and procedures related to the data platform

· Monitor the performance, efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes and identify any areas of improvements to drive process optimization and efficiency

· Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.

Our Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Analytics, and equivalent of 5+ years of experience in distributed systems like Big Data Hadoop.

· Proficiency in Hadoop: Proven experience in Hadoop technologies (Spark, HDFS, Hive, Sqoop, Airflow, Docker)

· Managing data infrastructure: Experience in monitoring of data platform infrastructure and incident handling.

· Knowledge of SQL: Experience in MariaDB or any other relational database management system.

· Experience with ETL: Experience in managing and operating enterprise ETL tools

· Programming skills: Experience in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and be able to develop custom shell scripts and applications for data operation and monitoring

· Data warehousing: good understanding of data warehousing concepts, including data architecture, dimensional modelling, and ETL processes.

· Experience with DevOps: Experience in DevOps tools and environment (BitBucket, Jira, Bamboo)

· Experience in Agile Methodology

· Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and provide solutions to complex data problems. Should have good communication and collaboration skills.

· Critical thinking: Ability to analyze and understand complex problem. Strong in User Requirements Gathering, Troubleshooting, Maintenance and Support
