Key Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight:

Resource & Equipment Management:

• Ensure that all operational assets are in good working condition and replace faulty equipment promptly.

Budgeting & Cost Management:

• Assist in the development of budgets for ship cleaning operations, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising service quality.
• Monitor and control costs related to labor, materials, and equipment to meet financial targets.
• Identify areas for process improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

Reporting & Documentation:

Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Maritime Studies, or a related field (preferred).

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the maritime or facilities cleaning industry.
• Proven experience in managing teams, logistics, and operations in a service-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with ship cleaning standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.

As an Assistant Manager / Conservatory Operations, you will be responsible for the husbandry and maintenance of the plants and displays within the Conservatories.

You will be required to manage multiple stakeholders including horticulture vendors, collaboration partners and cultural groups who may be involved in the floral displays.

You will manage and contribute to programs and activities to provide a more immersive experience for our visitors through our floral displays.

Requirements:

• Degree in Horticulture/ Botany/ Plant Science/ Environmental Science-related discipline, preferably with 2 years’ of relevant working experience in a relevant field of work
• Possess a keen and passionate interest in plants and gardening with a focus on exceeding visitor expectations
• Assist in coming out with the concept art for floral displays and other installations in the conservatories
• Ability to work out innovative solutions to challenges which may arise
• Service-oriented team player who is prepared to be hands-on
• Experience in horticulture, plants and flowers would be an advantage
• Strong oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to build relationships and cultivate collaborations and partnerships
• Good knowledge of various computer software and applications including Microsoft Office

This position is responsible for the planning and direction of the workers and resources of the restaurant for the efficient, well-prepared, and profitable service of food and beverages.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overall responsible for the administration and operations of the several restaurant outlets under one restaurant brand.

• Work with chefs and other personnel to plan menus that are flavourful and popular with customers. Work with chefs for efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies. Estimate food and beverage costs. Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste. Perform frequent checks to ensure consistent high-quality preparation and service.

• Work with other management personnel to plan marketing, advertising, and any special restaurant functions.

• Direct hiring, training, and scheduling of food service personnel.

• He/she is to implement all standardized procedures, rules, and regulations systematically in order to be in line with company standards and policies

• Ensure proper working condition of all outlet equipment and prepare equipment defect list

• Safe keeping of company properties

• Ensure proper daily sales deposit

• Ensure outlet cleanliness upkeep according to NEA requirements

• Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service.

• Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs using the Point of Sales system.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Oversee the assigned retail store daily operations to ensure efficiency, quality, service standards and cost-effective management of resources
• To create, update and audit the retail store SOP and ensure that the SOP is observed consistently by the team
• Provide necessary guidance & consultation on incoming stocks and conduct regular stock check to ensure the consistency of all products
• Manage, groom and motivate the team to foster continuous improvement - To assist in staff recruitment selection, on job training, performance management & disciplinary/dismissal issues as required
• Oversee the planning of duty rosters and ensure prudence - Ensure strict adherence to local regulations and labour laws
• Conduct frequent staff performance appraisal exercise when necessary
• Assist in new stores set ups, including planning of the new stall layout and equipment purchase
• Analyse and propose sales & promotional strategies to achieve higher revenue
• Assist to plan, formulate and/or review new products and/or selling price from time to time
