The Fleet/Badging Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and compliant operation of the company’s fleet, including barges and vessels. This role focuses on resource management, cost optimization, and operational excellence while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and environmental standards.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Barge Operations Coordination:
• Plan and schedule vessel movements to meet operational requirements, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of products.
• Monitor vessel operations, ensuring smooth execution of schedules and adherence to operational protocols.
Resource & Fleet Management
• Ensure vessels are properly maintained and in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Work with the technical team to coordinate any necessary maintenance or repairs for barges to minimize downtime.
• Track vessel performance and report on fuel consumption, maintenance, and overall efficiency.
Reporting and Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of all vessel movements, including schedules, cargo details, safety inspections, and maintenance logs.
• Prepare and submit regular reports to senior management, providing updates on vessel performance, operational efficiency, and safety compliance.
• Ensure all regulatory documentation and permits for vessel operations are up-to-date and properly filed.
Cost Control and Budget Management:
• Assist in managing the budget for vessel operations, tracking costs related to transportation, fuel, maintenance, and other related expenses.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in vessel operations.
• Monitor the financial performance of vessel operations, reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as operational costs, scheduling, and resource utilization.
Emergency and Contingency Planning:
• Develop and implement contingency plans for vessel operations in the event of delays, weather disruptions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, ensuring effective communication and coordination with relevant teams and external stakeholders.
• Investigate incidents or accidents involving vessels, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Continuous Improvement:
• Monitor industry trends and technological advancements in vessel operations to recommend and implement improvements.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or a related field).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping operations roles within the offshore oil and gas industry.
