Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Coordination: Oversees the daily activities on the construction site, ensuring that work is being carried out as per design, schedule, and quality standards.
Supervise, manage, and direct construction workers, subcontractors, and other site personnel.
Coordinate between the project management team, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
Organize and oversee the deployment of resources, including materials, equipment, and labor.
- Safety and Compliance:Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations, local building codes, and environmental guidelines.
Conduct daily site inspections to ensure that safety protocols are followed, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
Prepare and implement emergency response plans and manage safety drills.
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety standards and legal regulations.
- Quality Control:Ensure that all work is performed according to project specifications and quality standards.
Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks, reporting any deviations from project plans or standards.
Troubleshoot any issues related to construction quality and resolve them promptly.
- Project Tracking and Reporting:Track and report daily progress to project managers and senior leadership.
Maintain accurate logs of site activities, work hours, materials used, and any incidents that occur.
Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget by monitoring the progress and addressing delays promptly.
- Material and Equipment Management:Ensure that construction materials and equipment are delivered to the site on time and are in good condition.
Monitor and control inventory, avoiding waste and shortages.
Oversee the proper maintenance of construction tools and equipment.
- Team Management:Lead, motivate, and manage a team of construction workers, providing direction and support where necessary.
Conduct regular performance reviews of team members and provide training or guidance as needed.
Resolve conflicts or issues between workers, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience:A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction supervision or a related role.
Proven experience with construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment.
In-depth knowledge of safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and quality control.
- Skills:Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and make quick decisions on-site.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) is a plus.
- Physical Requirements:Ability to work in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and crouch for extended periods of time.
Comfortable with heights and working in construction-related environments.
