Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled, bilingual Senior Investment Manager with an extensive background in technology, Medtech, and venture capital (VC) to join our dynamic investment team. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of rich experience across the tech, Medtech, and investment industries, with a proven track record at a renowned fund or corporate venture capital (CVC) firm. This role requires deep experience in leading and advising tech startups, a strong understanding of global markets (including the US, China, and the MEA regions), and an academic foundation in Computer Science (CS) or Electrical Engineering (EE) from a prestigious institution.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Strategy & Execution:Lead investment sourcing, evaluation, and deal structuring across tech, Medtech, and other high-growth sectors.
Oversee and manage due diligence processes, building a thorough understanding of target companies.
Monitor portfolio performance and work closely with portfolio companies to add value.
Provide strategic guidance to executive teams of portfolio companies, leveraging your experience in startup management and scaling businesses.
Startup Expertise & Leadership:
Provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to portfolio companies, leveraging experience as a founder/executive in tech startups.
Evaluate and advise on business models, product-market fit, growth strategies, and operational challenges for startups.
Regional Market Expertise:
Leverage your experience in the US, China, and MEA to identify investment opportunities and navigate complex market dynamics.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key players, partners, and co-investors across the regions.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with the broader investment team, conducting strategic research and contributing to firm-wide investment decisions.
Coordinate with internal teams to support the growth and development of portfolio companies.
Industry Trends & Thought Leadership:
Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in the tech and Medtech sectors, providing insights and thought leadership to the team.
Represent the firm at industry events and conferences, strengthening its presence and reputation in the market.
Key Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum of 15 years of experience working across technology, Medtech, and investment sectors, with a strong track record of successful investments at a renowned fund or CVC.
Proven experience in founding or leading tech startups, with a deep understanding of scaling early-stage companies.
Global experience working in the US, China, and MEA regions, with the ability to navigate cross-cultural business environments.
Education:A degree in Computer Science (CS), Electrical Engineering (EE), or a related technical field from a prominent institution (e.g., top-tier universities in the US, China, or Europe).
Skills & Abilities:Bilingual in Chinese and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with a keen ability to assess startup potential and market trends.
Exceptional negotiation and deal-making abilities, with experience in structuring complex investment transactions.
Excellent networker with relationships across the tech and Medtech sectors in global markets.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
Knowledge of specific verticals within tech or Medtech (e.g., AI, biotech, medical devices, SaaS, etc.).
