Requirements and skills

• Proven work experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer
• Experience designing interactive applications
• Ability to develop software in Java, Ruby on Rails, C++ or other programming languages
• Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)

Code, modify, test, correct and document new and existing programs using assigned languages, tools and coding conventions;
Code, modify, test, correct and document new and existing JCLs;
Analyse the program specification to produce all testing condition and produce test data based on identified test conditions;
Prepare JCL to load DB2 table or define VSAM files with the extracted test data for performing the various tests, eg stress test, regression test, performance test etc. When tested successfully, repeat the process for creating production DB2 & VSAM files;
Prepare and maintain program and system documentation;
Assist in establishing file structures and processing logic requirements;
Produce deliverables according to group standards and procedures;
Assist Project Leaders in the study and design of application systems and work coordination, project management and user training work;
Troubleshooting and supporting end-users in the implementation and maintenance of application systems;
Train other contract programmers in the relevant skills;
Participate in Disaster Recovery activities eg simulation exercises at Disaster Recovery site;
Learn / pick up new programming skills related to System Development and Maintenance as assigned by the supervisors; and/or
Any other tasks related to System Development and Maintenance as may be assigned by the supervisors.
Have at least three (3) years' post graduate programming experience on IBM mainframe z/OS and CICS operating environment using TSO, ISPF, COBOL for z/OS, CICS COBOL, JCL and other utilities;
Have at least three (3) years' post graduate hands-on programming experience using COBOL for z/OS and CICS COBOL in processing IBM VSAM and sequential files and able to maintain VSAM file structure;
Have at least three (3) years' post graduate working experience in preparing JCL for compilation, linkage and execution of COBOL for z/OS programs, Sort and other IBM Utilities;
Have at least three (3) years' post graduate hands-on programming experience using DB2/SQL in COBOL for z/OS and CICS COBOL programs;
Able to use ISPF Editor to write and maintain programs and JCLs;
Able to code BMS Macro and the various field macro parameters to define all the map elements and their characteristics and to assemble the coded source into physical and symbolic map layout for the application program;
Able to handle job compilation using JES2 and analyse compilation result using SDSF facilities;
Able to debug JCLs and programs written in COBOL for z/OS and CICS COBOL;
Able to use ISPF and JCLs and programs to prepare test data and test data sets;
Able to conduct unit, module, functional and volume tests; to analyse the test results and to take corrective actions.

Job Description

• Collate and manage all the details regarding the CCTR application for the assigned business vertical

– information could span from details of systems interfacing, content of the various data being posted, data held within the application etc.

• Support user community on business queries and guidance on better usage of the system on daily BAU activities.

• Clear understanding the scope of the project, the changes associated and support the Project Manager in impact assessment. Clearly document the rationale for projects where no impact is assessed.

• For project where there is an impact, play a governance role in ensuring that the design (in terms of the level of information required from source to core processing is aligned with the strategic data flow strategy.

• Collate and rationalise all stakeholders’ requirements and walkthrough these requirements with team

• Actively partnering with the team in the solutioning process to ensure that the business solutions being implemented are thought through from a long term, standardization, design for no operations, front-end configuration perspective.

• Assess and propose appropriate testing approach and sign off criteria to stakeholders and get concurrence.

• Overall UAT management in terms of UAT timeline, batch run/ re-run and managing the tester’s testing result.

• Manage & monitor Platform financials, recoveries, and work allocation in Gene.
• Drive operational open actions closure, budget, and forecast planning cycles.
