The Role

We are seeking a Telecommunications Engineer (or similar) to join our team in the railway communication infrastructure sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and deploying communication transport solutions (both fixed and radio) for large international railway projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Analyzing project requirements and proposing appropriate solutions.
• Developing system technical specifications.
• Designing system architectures and ensuring integration with third-party systems.
• Acting as a technical interface with customers and other contractors.
• Performing testing and commissioning work onsite.
• Troubleshooting wired and wireless network systems.
• Providing technical support for systems post-commissioning.
• Conducting onsite testing and commissioning.

The Requirement

• A tertiary qualification in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working with various communication systems technologies such as fiber-optic transmissions, digital trunked radio, public address and telephony, CCTV surveillance, access management, and travel information systems.
• Experience in implementing railway-related projects for the Land Transport Authority (LTA) is an advantage.
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven experience in writing technical proposals and delivering presentations.
• Willingness to work outside of regular office hours as required.
• Self-motivated with a strong service orientation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud and On-Prem Infrastructure Management: Manage AWS Cloud (70%) and on-premise infrastructure (30%) to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
• Leadership and Coordination: Supervise, direct, and coordinate all cloud operations and project-related activities.
• Client Liaison: Act as the single point of contact for clients on operational matters, ensuring timely updates through regular meetings.
• Technical Guidance: Provide support and guidance to team members and client IT teams, addressing technical challenges effectively.
• Security Monitoring: Monitor for security threats and respond promptly to security incidents to safeguard the environment.
• Performance and Issue Resolution: Monitor the availability and performance of cloud and on-premise resources and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Cloud/On-Prem Services Management: Address issues impacting services, including cloud-native network and security services.
• Collaboration: Work with cloud engineers, system engineers, database engineers, and client IT staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Automation: Improve operational productivity by automating repetitive tasks using tools and scripts.
• Resource Provisioning: Provision and configure cloud and on-prem resources such as virtual machines, storage, and networking resources.
• Middleware and Application Management: Deploy and monitor middleware, OS patches, and application updates.
• Performance Scaling: Continuously monitor and scale resources based on demand, deploying automation to streamline scaling.
• Security Adherence: Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures to secure the environment.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to both cloud and on-prem environments.
• User Support: Provide assistance to users of cloud environments and applications to address their operational needs.

• Operating Systems and Applications:

• On-Premise Skills:
  • VMWare, ESXi, vCenter
  • Veritas NetBackup
• AWS Cloud Expertise:
  • Trend Micro Cloud One, DSM, Vision One
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AWS Native Services
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Leadership Experience:

• Proven experience as a team lead or technical lead is preferred.

Certifications:

• AWS Certified Professional Certificate: At least 2 years of AWS environment experience and 6 years in IT overall.
• AWS Certified Associate Certificate: At least 4 years of AWS environment experience and 8 years in IT overall.

Job Summary:

• Responsible for ensuring optimal operation of machinery, equipment, and infrastructure within the manufacturing facility.
• This role includes troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, and providing technical support to minimize downtime and maintain high levels of efficiency and safety.

The Role:

• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment, systems, and infrastructure to ensure smooth operation.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions on production equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Repair or replace damaged components in machinery and ensure all equipment is working properly after repairs.
• Assist in the installation and setup of new machines, including testing, calibrating, and adjusting equipment for optimal performance.
• Follow safety procedures and regulatory guidelines while performing maintenance work and ensure that all maintenance activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, inspections, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Work closely with production teams to plan and execute maintenance activities that align with production schedules, minimizing disruptions.
• Suggest and implement improvements to maintenance procedures and equipment to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

What Do You Need to Have?

• Candidates MUST possess at least a Diploma or ITE in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent.
• He/she must possess a minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in electrical engineering works troubleshooting machineries, ships, trains, building facilities, etc.
• Positive working attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
