Position Description:
APAC Linux Build team is responsible for installing, deploying and configuring Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) for various lines of businesses across APAC. The team plays a central role in collaborating with the project management teams, application owners and other infrastructure teams to provide Enterprise compute services.
A Linux build engineer role is responsible to build servers physical and virtual, provide LOB specific customizations including HA Clustering, provide OS level support for DC migrations and collaborate with project managers to implement solutions that meet business requirements. This role exposes candidate to hardcore technical and troubleshooting skills, working with vendors such as Redhat, Dell and HP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and configure servers as per design documents and complete post build tasks and QA checks.
- Work with project management team, application teams, and other infrastructure teams to deliver server builds and configurations
- Provide OS level support and assist in planning for DC migrations projects - VM Migrations, Physical servers Lift and Shift
- Troubleshooting and configuration of the technical environment. Escalating and liaising with additional internal/external groups when required, resulting in satisfactory resolution
- Create, review, maintain and update documentation
Key Requirements:
- 12+ years of experience in RHEL Administration and Configuration
- Strong technical skills and experience in Unix environment: RHEL9 and RHEL8 build, configuration, troubleshooting
- Strong technical skills and experience on Red Hat pacemaker cluster build, configuration, troubleshooting
- Fair understanding on various infrastructure components: Cloud(VMware), Storage(NAS/SAN/EFS), Network(Baronet/DMZ)
- Fair understanding on hardware level: HP, Dell consoles.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills to work with project stakeholders
- A good team player
- Scripting experience preferred: Shell scripting/python/Ansible, etc.
