Job Description

The Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC) is a contemporary public-private partnership, spearheaded by A*STAR in collaboration with NTU Singapore, to bridge technology gaps in advanced manufacturing and remanufacturing adoption. Smart Virtual Systems Group of ARTC specialises in developing innovative platforms and infrastructure capabilities that enable immersive and connected services for the manufacturing industry.

SVS is seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to develop highly available and scalable microservices-based applications and AI platform for autonomous manufacturing applications. He/she is expected to demonstrate a high level of independence and initiative, with the ability to effectively engage internal and external stakeholders to deliver solutions.

The key roles & responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Lead the software development and infrastructure system for Autonomous Manufacturing Technologies
• Develop and deploy cloud-native software solutions and implement scalable container platforms using agile methodologies
• Translate business requirements into technical designs
• Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure the project meets business objectives

Job Requirement

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or relevant disciplines
• 5 years of working experience.
• Understanding of Cloud Native Technologies and DevSecOps CI/CD Pipelines
• Understanding of Kubernetes platform and monitoring tools
• Hands-on experience with deploying and managing microservices using container orchestration platform
• Preferably possess Certified Kubernetes Application Developer Certification
• Can do attitude and happy to interface with multiple stakeholders

General Overview

This position is part of the Instrument, Control and Electrical (ICE) team that provides maintenance and technical support to the Operations and Project teams in the LNG Terminal. This position is responsible for ensuring the overall technical integrity of the Terminal from the electrical discipline perspective.

Roles and ResponsibilIties

The incumbent shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following scope of tasks and duties:

• Lead and supervise maintenance tasks and reliability improvements of electrical equipment and systems within the Gas Engine Generator (GEG) area
• Implement reliability programs and develop maintenance procedures for electrical equipment to facilitate consistent execution of maintenance tasks
• Develop and carry out minor CAPEX electrical projects following company guidelines
• Investigate electrical equipment failures or malfunctions in order to identify root causes of problem as well as recommend and implement solutions
• Liaise with external stakeholder including government agencies on electrical matters
• Support Major expansion projects from the electrical and operations perspective
• Work closely with Licensed Electrical Worker to provide integrity assurance for the electrical systems.
• The incumbent shall also participate in emergency response and may be assigned to a specific role and responsibility for such purpose.

Work Experience

• Minimum of five (5) years practical experience in an electrical maintenance / design role in an oil and petrochemical facilities or power generation environment.
• Relevant technical experience in high voltage electrical power systems.

Education

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from a recognized university.

Purpose:

Ensuring that the manufacturing and engineering processes adhere to quality standards and regulations.

• To monitor and control the production process, ensuring that any defects or deviations are detected and corrected early.
• To inspect the finished product to ensure it meets all quality specifications and standards.

Key Area of Responsibilities:

• Responsible for manufacturing quality assurance including in-process quality, semi-finished product quality, and outgoing product quality.
• Lead a team of inspectors and supervisors to ensure incoming materials met internal and customer specifications and requirements.
• Drive incoming quality assurance process improvement in efficiency and effectiveness
• Owner of Non-Conformities and Error Management Systems. Collaborate with Headquarters for any system upgrade or changes
• Responsible for non-conforming materials disposition and Material Review Board (MRB)/ Corrective Action Board (CAB) and drive robust corrective and preventive actions
• Drive robust manufacturing system and process quality to meet internal and customer requirements and expectations
• Perform analysis on non-conforming quality incidents and internal errors and provide recommendations to meet internal and customer requirements and expectations
• Support Customer Quality to investigate customer product complaints
• Be responsible for manufacturing quality KPIs and reporting to senior management
• Lead a team of engineers to drive NPI and First Article quality requirements and system
• Provide leadership and consulting advice in quality matters
• Plan and lead manufacturing process audit to drive root cause analysis for outgoing inspection lapses.
• Lead, train, develop, and coach Quality team members. Manage performance evaluation and strengthen the organization.

Qualification & Experiences:

• Bachelor in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical) or Material Science.
• 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance function, at least 3 years as a quality leader with supervisory experience in the manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge and practice in 8D, SPC, MSA, FMEA, QFD, 6-sigma methodology, PPAP, change management.
• Good understanding of First Article Inspection requirements and expectations
• Strong in statistical knowledge and 6-sigma methodology. Certified Black Belt or Green Belt preferred.
• Strategic, creative and systemic thinking
• Excellent leadership and effective communicator with all levels of associates and management.
