Job Description

A Testing & Commissioning Engineer is responsible for ensuring that electrical systems and equipment are installed, tested, and commissioned according to industry standards and project specifications. The primary duties include:

• Testing and Commissioning: Conducting tests on electrical power equipment such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protection systems to ensure they operate correctly.
• Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the testing and commissioning phases.
• Documentation: Preparing detailed reports on test results, commissioning activities, and any issues encountered.
• Compliance: Ensuring all activities comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
• Coordination: Working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Training: Providing training and technical support to other team members and clients on the operation and maintenance of electrical systems.
• Continuous Improvement: Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing and commissioning processes.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates need the following qualifications:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: Proven experience in testing and commissioning electrical power equipment. At least 3-5 years of relevant experience is required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using testing equipment and software, knowledge of electrical power systems, and familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Electrical Inspector (CEI), or other industry-specific certifications can be beneficial.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Additional Skills: Experience with specific testing equipment brands (e.g., Omicron) and knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.

• Assist Mass Spectrometry manufacturing by resolving technical issues.
• Mechanical, precision, or manufacturing engineering competence.
• Design tools and fixtures for process improvement.
• Maintain engineering support for Mass Spectrometry production.
• Assist the production and quality teams to improve First-Pass yield.
• Assist with engineering evaluation for component EOL and part change.
  Assistance with NPI manufacturing setup and product transfer initiatives
• Assist the quality team with field return instrument failure analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years working experience, preferably in life science or biotech manufacturing environment.
• Work well within a team environment.
• Able to communicate with all levels, across functions and cross cultural.
• Strong analytical and leadership skill.
