The Software Developer role will have the following responsibilities:

Software Engineering/Programming

• Design and develop back-end systems in our e-commerce platform.
• Automate testing, deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with the CTO to implement the product development road-map.

Skills and Characteristics

• Self-motivated: You are expected to manage the different priorities of tasks assigned to you and manage your own time.
• Ownership & Responsibility: You are required to drive changes and improvements taking full ownership from idea to implementation.
• Responsible: You are expected take responsibility together with the rest of the development team to develop and manage our software solutions long-term.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Excellent competence in Java, Spring and JavaScript is required. Competence is more important than working experience. A candidate would typically have a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience but exceptions can be made for outstanding candidates.
• Experience developing web and stand-alone applications in Spring technologies such as: Spring Boot, Spring REST.
• Hands-on experience with MySQL (or any relational databases), data storage, archiving and retrieval.
• Experience with secure coding practices and resolving system vulnerabilities.
• Experience in managing and troubleshooting Linux systems.
• Proficient spoken and written English.

Nice to have but not required:

• Experience in unit testing frameworks and in test driven development.
• Experience in DevOps and GitOps and common frameworks such as Gitlab.

This is a permanent full time position. The job location is at BullionStar's headquarter at 45 New Bridge Road.

Salary and Benefits

The salary is dependent on your capability, experience and skills. The typical starting salary is from SGD 7,000 to SGD 11,000 per month for a driven candidate, plus up to 3 months' bonus. In addition, BullionStar provides an Annual Wage Supplement (AWS) equivalent to 1 month salary. BullionStar furthermore offers reimbursement of medical bills and access to an employee health and fitness benefit program.

-Research, design and develop computer and network software or specialised utility programs

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop test cases to meet product/feature requirements and prioritize testing activities.
• Validation and qualification of incoming bugs from external sources.
• Verify bugs are unique and valid before adding them to the bug tracker and/or product backlog.
• Document and associate supplemental data (logs, reports, reproduction steps) to bug tracker entries to aid developers.
• Work with the test manager and engineers to prioritize issues. Verify the successful resolution of all reported fixed bugs. Iterate with engineers as needed.
• Identify software defects in each software iteration through a combination of manual black-box tests, execution of scripted tests, and a thorough review of relevant content and display attributes.
• Perform regression testing for each software release and sign off on successful test plan execution.
• Highlight issues to project leads and push back on releases when quality standards are in question.
• Generate documentation and create standardized reports.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Minimum Diploma in Computer Science or relevant studies.
• Minimum 1 year of software QA/QC testing.
• Experience in testing software products across multiple platforms (windows & mobile).
• Experience using common SCM/RCS tools like SVN, GIT, Mercurial, etc.
• Experience using common bug-tracking tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, Trac, Mantis, etc.
• Experience working in an agile or lean software development environment.
