The Role

BI Solution Architect plays in a crucial role in providing technical guidance in the planning, design, governance and development of essential Data Architecture and workflows that leverage data and analytics for informed decision-making.

As data is sourced from various systems, the individual will collaborate closely with SMEs and COEs across different modules within the Business Insights & Data Analytics. Their role involves identifying high-impact use cases, designing innovative data products, and delivering actionable insights. They will be responsible for defining, designing, and implementing Azure and Databricks technologies and services to facilitate data analysis, supporting strategic initiatives and ongoing business transformation.

The ideal candidate must have strong PL/SQL knowledge to develop, enhance and understand the existing stored procedures. He/She must be a team player and motivated to learn new BI tools to help with the team’s workload.

Responsibilities

· End to end ownership of ETL data pipelines, from ingestion of data to consumption by business intelligence and advanced analytics teams.

· Lead the development and deployment of data models to generate insights from the Enterprise Data Warehouse.

· Define and implement long-term technical strategies for data engineering tools, practices, and processes to support team growth and deliver high-quality data products.

· Ensuring data quality and consistency across various sources with good data governance.

· Identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency, increasing business revenue and decreasing the cost redundancies.

· Work closely with different business stakeholders to translate business needs and product requirements to well-documented engineering solutions.

· Strong working knowledge on PL/SQL and good knowledge of Python.

· Be a role model for mentoring & coaching other engineers, applying best practice into team/product and promote our best practice/achievement to external teams.

· Identifying and troubleshooting operational and data quality issues.

· Automating tasks and deploying production standard code.

Desired Skills, Competencies and Personal Traits

· Highly skilled and competent in Microsoft Azure (SQL, Stored Procedures, ADF, Data Lake, Azure Synapse) and Databricks (Python) would be a plus.

· Good understanding and experience with data architecture and data platform designs

· Deep knowledge and experience in data modelling, entity relationship and query analysis optimization.

· Excellent communication skills to liaise with end users and understand their business requirements, both verbally and written.

· Analytical mindset to identify and resolve issues related to data integration, data quality, and Power BI reports

· Experience with full implementation of SDLC
