Roles and Responsibilities
- To be responsible for the safe delivery of care to patients.
- To ensure that medical supplies are available for procedures when needed.
- To explain the examination to patient, what he/she will be undergoing and the estimated duration of it, and obtain the necessary consent when required.
- To assist Radiation Oncologist in CTSimulation, brachytherapy and external beam radiotherapy procedures.
- To ensure that precautions have been taken to protect patients, staff and public from unnecessary exposure to inoizing radiation and infectious diseases.
- To perform documentation according to government legislation.
- To perform daily QA procedures on nursing and e-trolley equipment according to manufacturers’ recommendations to ensure the optimal performance of equipment.
- To perform any other duties as instructed by the Senior Staff Nurse or Manager/Radiation Oncologist.
- Possibility of deployment to Nuclear Medicine Centre, when required, within working hours.
Requirements
- Able to provide general nursing support
- Able to perform IV cannulation
- Able to administer IV contrast
- Able to assist in brachytherapy (training will be provided by ROS if necessary)
Working time:
- Mon to Fri - 8.30am to 5.30pm
- Sat (subject to exigency need of the dept)
