Job Scope:
In a challenging and multi-cultural environment, we seek a Business Analyst to join our Core Banking IT department which is in charge of developing and maintaining the International Back Office Cash Management System. This information system is deployed in several business units all around the world. The system has multiple modules to manage reference data, commercial back office functions (payments, remittances, loans, deposits, guarantees, letters of credit), accounting, management control and credit risk monitoring. The system caters to local regulatory reporting needs and head office reporting, based on a data warehouse.
The candidate will be in charge of analyzing the requirements, writing specifications and test scenarios/cases, maintaining and building the cash management ecosystem of the bank. The role will focus primarily on functional analysis, quality assurance of the build, and delivery required for the evolutions of the in-house applications.
Main Responsibilities:
- Execute business analysis best practices and engagement of stakeholders across front-to-back functions.
- Responsible for all analysis of functional requirements arising from the requirements of business stakeholders, business users and technology.
- Map the identified functional requirements and define a solution.
- Design and execute the test cases for the IT business requirements.
- Defect reporting and triage.
- Work in Agile – Scrum environment as a Business Analyst & Project Manager/Scrum Master. Should be able to refine/groom future stories and perform tests within the sprint timebox.
- Manage the requirements and provide design options for the solutions available and guide the team.
- Evaluate alternative IT solutions and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Provide payments domain expertise to help define a viable business solution, and working with the key business sponsors.
- Ensure that the services delivered conforms with, and contributes to the development of the business strategy.
- Assess the impacts on the project plans resulting from change requests, ad hoc projects, or technology issues.
- Coordinate with various users groups and interface teams, and get them onboard as interface services for various financial services.
- Manage stakeholders, risks, issues, quality, and project controls.
- Work closely with the technical implementation team in bridging the gap from translating functional to technical details.
- Involve in quality assurance activities when needed.
- Provide functional guidance to the team, and work closely with developers / technical leads for assisting in resolution of queries.
Job Qualifications:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant business analyst experience with banking IT systems e.g., payment systems and core banking applications.
Key Functional Skills:
- Must have end-to-end payments system knowledge with detailed insights on payment file format ISO20022, SWIFT and SEPA payments. Experience with payments field/value mapping and validations.
- Must have hands-on experience on payment systems and exposure to payments hub, clearing and settlement, automated clearing house programs and channels.
- Must have good knowledge on payment lifecycle (client > clearing) for high value payments. Also, experience on handling R-Msgs.
- Must have proficiency in functional and system integration testing of banking and financial applications, as well as user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Must have excellent understanding of software development lifecycle and software testing lifecycle.
- Must have experience in breaking functional specification document (FSD) & EPICs into developable stories for developers by creating linkage and traceability of requirements.
- Should have high experience in creating Cucumber test cases (Gherkin) and working with developers in behavior driven development (BDD).
- Good to have experience in functional automation of test cases using SOAP UI / Selenium and other automation tools.
- Should be able to connect dots from bigger picture to smaller chunks and maintain change requirements.
- Experience in following areas is a plus - Corporate Banking, Corporate Commercial Payments, International & Domestic Payments, Payment Hub/Factory, Correspondent Banking, Real-Time Payments, Cash & Liquidity Management, Compliance/AML, FX, & Messaging (Swift and ISO).
Other Professional Skills:
- Should be experienced on Agile tools (Atlassian), Business Analysis tools (MS Word, Excel, MS Visio), Quality Assurance tools and standard documents.
- Similar experience in ownership and requirements management e.g., create, maintain and periodically update specification documents.
- Knowledge of all phases of IT system development and implementation lifecycle.
- Highly analytical and detail-oriented in approach, with excellent communication and presentation skills, and experience converting highly complex information into clear, concise documentation.
- Capable to effectively interact with development and delivery teams, and should have worked in cross-functional departments.
- Strives to deliver the solution in the most effective and timely manner.
- Hands-on individual and versatile.
- As part of an integrated organization across different sites, candidate should be able to forge close relationships with Program Director, other Team Leads, architecture functions and quality assurance teams.
- Limited travel for this role may be expected.
