As an Engineer under Engineering- Manufacturing System and Automation, you will be tasked to provide operational technical support to drive productivity and product quality with GxP compliance and regulatory requirements. You will also assist to drive/ execute control and automation projects and provide maintenance, backup and restore for IPC and PLCs. You will also carry out / support investigation for non-conformances.

In this role, a typical day will include:

· 1st level engineering support for major equipment downtime [24x7 supports]

· Focus on solving recurring/ long-term equipment issues through detailed understanding of the design or engineering concepts.

· Maintain and perform routine check and backup/restore for Industrial PCs/ PLCs.

· Lead and support automation/control related projects. Develop/review project documentations and related SOPs. Perform equipment/software validation.

· Prepare training materials on respective process/ system/ equipment in term of operation, maintenance or troubleshooting.

· Innovate, provide and implement ideas for process or equipment improvement.

· Ensure the system/equipment are comply with HSE, and Alcon quality requirement

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

· Minimum 0-3 years of intensive hands on experiences in technical (Electrical/ Mechatronic /Electronic/Physics/ Automation) troubleshooting and experience on Siemens S7/TIA Portal, Beckhoff TwinCAT and/or Allen Bradley PLC.

· Experience on factory automation system installation/validation and understanding of GMP/GDP requirement.

Responsibilities :

• Perform electrical and electronic conceptual details design work.
• Responsible for the analysis, definition, design, construction, testing, installation, modification, and maintenance of automated machines, containing software as the major component.
• Writes new machine program, makes modification to existing machine software, or integrates software application.
• Creates and executes until testing and integration testing ensuring machine software meets requirements.
• Identify, define and implement the technical architecture for use of auto visual inspection in our product within budget and schedule.
• Review electrical and electronic documents/drawings.
• Creates, reviews, and maintains all required technical documentation/manual related to assigned software to ensure supportability and reuse.
• Participate in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements.
• Reviews project work with the team, included the machine design engineers and engineering engineers.
• Provide timely status updates for areas of individual responsibilities within projects to superior.
• Provides technical support to operations or other development teams.
• Overall responsibility for technical issues and coordinate with other disciplines.
• To participate in the continuous improvement programs to explore ways and means to improve production efficiency and reliability.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering with min one (1) years of relevant experience.
• Experience working with vision system database.
• Knowledge of camera, light, and lens selection for applications ranging from defect detection to part location.
• Programming background with high-level languages such as Visual C# WPF, C++ and Python.
• Experience in developing vision system with Halcon and Opteon camera.
• Good knowledge in Machine Vision programming and experiences.
• Good experience on automation controls, motors & sensors like PLC, CTC, Beckoff PC and controllers, Servo & Stepper motors.
• Familiarity with wiring/cabling size/terminations and load/temperature requirements.
• Familiarity with industrial machinery design.
• Skilled in the utilization of statistical analysis.
• Required to travel regionally (average 20% of the time).
• 5 days work week.
• Transport pick-up at Bedok MRT station.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service (60%)

• Represent OMEGA in dealing with customers’ concerns.
• To provide quality support to customers’ technical enquiries.
• To communicate with customers on his needs and request for service.
• To perform repair, installation and commissioning of Marine Communication and Navigational equipment.
• To troubleshoot complex technical faults, report findings and communicate with Projects, Sales and customers for solutions and feedback.
• Interact with end-users to explain the failure mode in detail.
• Travel to customer sites as circumstances dictate; 60-70% of the time will travel around the globe to attend to break downs & repair onboard vessels; otherwise in Singapore supporting the same activities.

Internal Liaison (25%)

• Assist the project team in project executions; in providing technical expertise in field/site works.
• Be responsible for the tools and parts issued under his care.
• To observe and implement the company EHS policy; ensure compliance with all safety policies, practices and procedures at all times.
• Able to meet project deadlines and prioritizing tasks time to time as scheduled.
• Any other duties assigned by immediate Superior.

Reporting (15%)

• To report the jobs carried out in the standard service report form; report the productivity hours and tasks performed.
• To summarize service reports per project for team for submission to the Manager, Service.
• To report on team’s achievements on a monthly and quarterly basis.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Min 4 year of relevant working experience.
• Basic knowledge on Network System.
• Good Knowledge on one or two of the following: telecommunication, public announcement systems, navigation systems.
• Service oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to travel and staying overseas for a period of up to 4 weeks.
• Able to work independently and meet schedules.
