As a Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of a team that is responsible for designing, fabricating, integrating, and testing of mechanical related components for a modular kit intended to convert manned vessels into unmanned vessels.

You will work closely with multiple teams and vendors to ensure seamless integration of multiple subsystems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough analysis of system requirements and specifications to identify mechanical engineering needs and constraints, and translate high-level system requirements into mechanical design requirements.
• Conceptualize and design mechanical subsystems and components that meet the system requirements. Utilize CAD software and other tools to create detailed designs, conduct relevant simulations, and analyse performance. Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and best practices throughout the development process.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and systems engineers, to integrate mechanical systems effectively within the overall system, considering factors such as compatibility, functionality, maintainability, and performance.
• Adopt a product-centric approach to design and engineering.
• Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on design objectives, project timelines, and system performance requirements.
• Develop test plans and procedures, and perform comprehensive testing of mechanical subsystems and their integration within the larger system. Analyse test results, identify potential issues or areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures. Collaborate with testing teams to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation throughout the design, development, and integration process. Prepare technical reports, specifications, and drawings to effectively communicate design details and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Perform mechanical hands-on fitting, assembly and installation of mechanical components on site., including repair and maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
• Good technical, creativity in problem-solving skills and strong reasoning ability.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Proficient in 3D engineering design and simulation software such as SolidWorks, SolidEdge, ProE, and Catia.
• Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to mechanical engineering.
• Prior design experience related to unmanned systems will be a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities:

· Develop green marine solutions that reduces marine carbon footprint, in line with company business objectives.

· Hands on in setting up of test lab to enable development and testing.

· Perform PLC software and algorithm development for electrical propulsion solutions.

· Generate documentation of software architecture and logic flow, test procedures, quality control and any other necessary supporting documents.

· Participate and support commissioning of vessels with similar configurations.

· Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to our delivered solutions that may arise during the vessel commissioning.

· Any other tasks as may be required by supervisor.

Requirements:
