Job Description

As a Workshop Engineer, the main role will be conducted within an office-based position at Fugro in Singapore office. He will serve as the primary support contact for the mechanical aspects of all mobile / fixed drilling equipment. He will play a pivotal role in the planning and budgeting for preventive maintenance and upgrades which will include liaising between many internal and external departments. Additionally, he will be responsible for supervising routine mechanical tasks carried out by rig mechanics on the ships.

Day-to-day tasks will include:

• Assist with the preparation and planning for the mechanical equipment inspection and testing that will be carried out throughout the year in the workshop facility.

About You
The Workshop Engineer will be a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer with a detailed operational and maintenance knowledge of static & rotating mechanical (including high pressure hydraulic & Pneumatic) systems. He would have a minimum 8 years of hands-on experience on servicing hydraulic and mechanical equipment used in Marine & Offshore industry, of which minimum 3 years of experience is working on hydraulic equipment used on offshore facilities such as MODU’s, Rigs. The role is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Offshore Geotechnical drilling and Geophysical mechanical equipment’s maintenance. • Non-Conformance Management (NCR): Identify, document, and address non-conformances, particularly those impacting CONQUAS scoring. Recommend corrective actions, ensuring rectifications align with quality standards to avoid future issues.

2. Collaboration with Project Team

• Coordination with Site Engineers & Supervisors: Work closely with site engineers and supervisors to ensure construction methods comply with CONQUAS specifications, providing guidance on quality protocols and rectifications as needed.
• Client & Consultant Interaction: Act as the primary quality liaison with clients and consultants, updating them on QA/QC matters and addressing quality concerns directly related to CONQUAS scoring.

3. Reporting & Documentation

• Quality & CONQUAS Reports: Prepare quality and assessment reports, including checklists and summaries that reflect compliance with CONQUAS scoring standards, inspection records, and non-conformance resolutions.
• Record Management: Maintain comprehensive QA/QC records, including BCA CONQUAS documentation, material certificates, inspection logs, and testing results.

4. Technical Skills and Knowledge

• CONQUAS Standards & Guidelines: In-depth knowledge of BCA’s CONQUAS standards, especially in structural, architectural, and M&E works criteria, assessment scoring, and inspection guidelines.
• Inspection Techniques & Tools: Proficiency in inspection techniques and tools that align with CONQUAS criteria, including non-destructive testing (NDT) and visual inspection practices.

5. Training & Development
