Purpose of Job
· Directly Responsible for Head of Department (HOD) of Community Partnership and Corporate Services
Key Responsibility areas
Drive corporate development
· Develop high standard of corporate image through effective PR strategies, professional publicity material and ground-breaking services and programmes.
· Work on long-term strategy, resource and organization development plan to handle the expanding scope of the services of the Centre which include the establishment of branches throughout Singapore or possible strategic alliance with other agencies.
· Innovate and develop strategies to ensure the financial viability of the Centre.
Manage funds and donations
· Play an active role in the execution of all fundraising projects of the Centre.
· Create and enhance the visibility and image of the Centre to draw the attention of Corporations and Institutions providing funding for specific charitable projects.
· Justify the deployment of donation dollars and subsidized funds to maximize the benefits and coverage to as many service recipients as possible.
Drive programme effectiveness and efficacy
· Facilitate and participate in the Centre’s Management Committee meetings.
· Initiate and plan the development and implementation of programmes and administrative procedures congruent with the goals of the Centre.
· Undertake periodic review of programmes implemented to ensure their effectiveness and efficacy.
· Prepare regular progress and performance reports of the Centre for discussion at the Management Committee and sub-committees.
· Based on the above reports, to make recommendations regarding programme development and implementation for enhancing the Centre’s effectiveness and efficacy.
Manage community outreach and stakeholder network
· Responsible for submission of reports and answering all correspondence and requests for information from Central Singapore CDC, Commissioner of Charities, IRAS, ROS and other governmental and regulatory agencies.
· Represent the Centre to various government agencies, NCSS, MSF and the media where appropriate opinions and feedback are required or called for.
· Maintain and enhance networking with the social sector, government agencies and other grassroots organization with the objective of leveraging their support.
· Network with external agencies in the social services and Buddhist community.
· Maintain a non-sectarian relationship with the Buddhist community by offering the Centre as a Buddhist community service and consultancy provider.
Manage personnel and accounts
· Train, supervise and organize the career development of the staff of the Centre.
· Assist staff to draw up work objectives that are congruent with our vision, mission and goals and to gauge the efficacy of staff members’ efforts through a system of appraisal.
· Attend conferences, seminars, networking meeting and workshops and to share information and expertise gained with other staff members.
· Prepare a yearly budget of the Centre to be submitted to the Management Committee.
· Recommend and implement personnel and financial policies decided by the Management Committee.
· Monitor, control and to ensure that the operating expenses of the Centre are within approved budget limits.
Conduct monthly meetings with all staff for open and clear communication.
Requirements
· At least 5 years of experience with the Social Services Sector with at least 15 years of senior management experience in a medium sized social service organisation or equivalent
· Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration or any other related field
Other Requirements
· Good understanding of the social service profession/sector
· Must possess strategic agility to create a compelling vision for the organisation, devise short-term and long-term goals and ensure all organisational activities and decisions are in line with the vision
· Must demonstrate experience in management, administration and human resources, sound understanding of governance principles, financial skills including budget creation
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational & project management skills.
· Act as brand ambassadors of the Shan You brand with clients
