Data Engineer for cloud migration projects (Primarily utilizing AWS, IDMC, Databricks and Tableau)

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to cleanse, transform, and enrich data, making it suitable for analytical purposes using Databricks' Spark capabilities and Informatica IDMC for data transformation and quality.

• Monitor and optimize data processing and query performance in both AWS and Databricks environments, making necessary adjustments to meet performance and scalability requirements. Utilize Informatica IDMC for optimizing data workflows.

• Implement security best practices and data encryption methods to protect sensitive data in both AWS and Databricks, while ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations. Employ Informatica IDMC for data governance and compliance.

• Implement automation for routine tasks, such as data ingestion, transformation, and monitoring, using AWS services like AWS Step Functions, AWS Lambda, Databricks Jobs, and Informatica IDMC for workflow automation.

• Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of data infrastructure, pipelines, and configurations in both AWS and Databricks environments, with metadata management facilitated by Informatica IDMC.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, to understand data requirements and deliver appropriate solutions across AWS, Databricks, and Informatica IDMC.

• Identify and resolve data-related issues and provide support to ensure data availability and integrity in both AWS, Databricks, and Informatica IDMC environments.

• Optimize AWS, Databricks, and Informatica resource usage to control costs while meeting performance and scalability requirements.

• Stay up-to-date with AWS, Databricks, Informatica IDMC services, and data engineering best practices to recommend and implement new technologies and techniques.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in data engineering, with expertise in AWS services, Databricks, and/or Informatica IDMC.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for building data pipelines.

• Evaluate potential technical solutions and make recommendations to resolve data issues especially on performance assessment for complex data transformations and long running data processes.

• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.

Main Responsibilities

• Reports to the Principal Engineer (Electrical).

Design & Solutioning

• ­ Support/participate in engineering design for integration and system development HVAC electro-mechanical systems.
• ­ Prepare, or supervise the preparation of, drawings for HVAC plant system general arrangements, power single line diagrams, cable block diagrams, instrumentation loop diagrams, P&IDs, control system architecture drawings, and cable, instrument and I/O schedules at detailed design level.
• ­ Drafting of panel layout, schematic and control drawing of starter and PLC panel.
• ­ Develop and release of engineering component and assembly drawings.

Projects & Operations

• ­ Support schedule development for key project timelines/milestones.
• ­ Participate Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of starters and PLC panels.
• ­Conduct testing and commissioning for projects.
• Attend to ad-hoc electrical issues at maintenance sites for troubleshooting and provide recommendations.
• Contractor liaison, engagement/provide requirements.
• ­Supervision: Oversee engineers/subcontractors to generate detailed drawings, compile reports.
• Perform review/analysis, perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of electrical issues.

• Evaluate / review selection of electrical subcontractors.
• Review testing and certification reports.
• Quality Assurance: Complete electrical quality assurance tasks and equipment inspection.
• Training: Assist with recruitment, training, and onboarding of new hires.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with relevant standards.

Qualifications and experience

• Education: Diploma/Degree in Engineering/Facility Management
• Experience: >10 years project/facility management, factory plant operations.
• ­In-depth knowledge in panel design, layout arrangement of starter panel and PLC panel.
• ­In-depth knowledge on HVAC systems and HVAC(ACMV) controls, VFD, Start-Delta and Auto Transformer starters.
• Knowledge on HVAC systems, facility, safety and construction regulations with respect to chiller system installation would be an advantage.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. Proficiency with CAD software and excellent communication abilities.
• Certifications: Well versed in Singapore CP and Standards for panel design and electrical discipline.
• Required fluency in English; And/or Mandarin/Cantonese, other Asian languages would be beneficial e.g. Korean/Bahasa/Thai etc.).

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Mechanical/Thermal/Process Engineer will support diverse power and energy consulting projects throughout the Asia region. Further responsibilities would also include assisting in business development and proposal preparation, collaborating with WSP's regional and international experts as needed.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Mechanical Engineer within the Power and Energy Team, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting Clients during project feasibility studies, appraisals, procurement evaluations, contractor/vendor design reviews, engineering processes, construction, commissioning, and performance testing, and when required, presenting to clients.
• Contributing to preparing design specifications and provide technical advice to clients on various aspects of power plant development, including configuration options, performance evaluation, prime equipment selection, Balance of Plant (BoP) systems and components, reliability and availability analysis, enabling infrastructure, and considerations for project implementation.
• Assisting managing the technical delivery requirements of projects and project execution to ensure they meet established standards and client expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master/Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical/Chemical engineering.
• 3 to 10 years of experience as a mechanical/process engineer in the power and energy sector, ideally developed within a plant/system design role or professional services/consulting environment.
• Familiar with gas turbines, CC & CHP power plants, or waste-to-energy plants, including key technologies & components and project lifecycle considerations.
• Experience of working with public and private sector clients in the Asia region.
• Experience in managing and developing client relationships, driving sales, and achieving business growth in engineering consulting or a similar technical industry.
• The following are desired:

1. An additional business qualification (e.g., MBA) would be advantageous.
2. Knowledge of, or the ambition to learn and develop, expertise in process systems for generation of biofuels and power plant waste cleaning systems such as flue gas and wastewater treatment.
3. Familiarity with any design software such as Thermoflow’ GTPro, Steam Pro, CFD, PVsys, WAsP, etc., would be advantageous.
4. Proficiency in MS Office.
5. Experience with project management methodologies and project planning software tools such as, Primavera and MS Project.

Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and technical expertise in the deployment of AI systems on embedded platforms.

Qualification/ Requirements:

• Education: Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven experience in deploying and optimizing deep learning models on embedded systems.
• Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in Python, C++, and CUDA.
• ML Frameworks:In-depth knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorRT, and hardware accelerators.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to tackling technical challenges.
• Teamwork: Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the systems engineer will provide engineering design, technical configuration, drawing of various telecommunication systems.

He/ She will possess extensive knowledge and experience in Engineering design of telecommunication, safety & security and marine navigation systems covering technologies such as IP Infrastructure, WIFI WLAN, Firewall security, IP-PABX, PAGA, CCTV, VCS, TETRA/DMR UHF/VHF Radio, GMDSS Radio, GEO/MEO/LEO VSAT, IPTV, Radar, Gyrocompass and etc and provide engineering design, technical configuration, proof of concept as well as drawing instruction of various telecom systems.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of engineering design and make a truly access and understanding of client requirement and propose the right solution to fit the specs.
• Produce engineering document (VDRL) and close the client comments in a timely, high quality and accurate manner.
• Produce scratch drawing and guide the AUTOCAD drafter to come out the engineering drawing deliverables.
• Adapt the industrial standard and best practice into the engineering drawing preparation, design, review, and submission.
• Guide the in-house technician for equipment assembly and cabinet integration; implement the system configuration, simulation, testing and verification.
• Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) to client and provide in-house training to client as well as commissioning engineer.
• Any other ad hoc tasks required for business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide remote and on-site technical support, including but not limited to, Incident Management and Problem Management

• Escalate incidents, problems, changes to Team Lead, Service Delivery Manager, Account Manager or vendors as per defined business rules, ensuring timely resolution of client service requests

• Liaise with vendors needed to achieve incident and problem resolution.

• Maintain detailed knowledge of clients’ environments, where applicable, by maintaining and updating relevant documentation.

• Provide high levels of customer service and resolving problems/issues with the client in a constructive manner.

• Prepare adhoc reports as required for contractual requirements.

• Contribute to ITIL based processes to ensure successful delivery of services and initiate solutions to improve quality and productivity

• Participate in client presentations when necessary

Job Requirements:

• CCNP or CCIE in Enterprise is required

• Hands-on experience in installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, wireless or switches

• Have some working knowledge of Cisco Routers, Switches, SD-WAN, DNA, Wireless products in addition to Meraki Switch, Router, Wireless products

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines

• At least 3 years of experience in a technical support environment working with Cisco products

• Experience with VMWare NSX and VMWare Load balancers, is an added advantage

• Knowledge of Aruba, Bluecoat, Ironport, F5, Checkpoint, Fortigate or Juniper products is also preferred

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to assist in site supervision and coordination for a construction project. Key duties include overseeing project execution, managing progress, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring quality control.
