This Crude Oil Trading Analyst is part of the Crude Oil Department, reporting to the Crude Oil Team Leader. This role involves providing in-depth, high-quality market analysis, contributing to the development and execution of pricing strategies, managing derivative books, and ensuring effective hedging of crude oil positions. You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced trading environment, supporting decision-making with accurate, data-driven insights and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide detailed analysis and insights on global crude oil markets, with a focus on price trends, premiums, spreads, and key market indicators.
• Continuously monitor global crude oil markets to identify emerging trading opportunities.
• Evaluate and forecast global and regional crude oil demand and supply based on factors such as economic growth, cargo movements, geopolitical events, government policies, etc..
• Manage hedging strategies for crude oil positions, ensuring proper risk mitigation in volatile market conditions.
• Use trading platforms to access real-time market data, execute trades, and monitor positions.
• Record deals into the trading system and maintain up-to-date monitoring of market, credit, and operational risks.
• Compile market reports, maintain and update databases.
• Carry out and support other duties assigned by the Company.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in International Trading, Economics, Finance, Statistics or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in trading, and market analysis within oil and gas trading company.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to process and interpret large datasets to generate actionable insights.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suits, and trading platforms, such as Refinitiv.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and maintain trust and integrity within a team.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin, capable of preparing analysis reports in Chinese and communicating with Mandarin-speaking counterparts.

• Ensure consistency of functional and non-functional needs, and challenge business requirements.
• Design the functional solution / prepare user stories (or equivalent documents).
• Write the acceptance criteria (following BDD approach).
• Synchronize with others applications BAs for interface design and specification.
• Explain to Development team the requirements / user stories.

Trade Finance functional referent:

Experience with Finastra Trade Innovation Plus (TI+) solution or equivalent.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all TI+ related inquiries, providing expert guidance to within the team, and towards other stakeholders (Business and Management actors).
• Identify opportunities for improvements on TI+ implementation and customization strategies, as per best practices established by the vendor.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops for other team members and project contributors, enhancing their understanding of the product and its functionalities.
• Oversee and contribute to the rollout of major upgrades and releases of TI+.
• Coordinate with Finastra support team to review CACIB cases raised for defects and enhancement requests.

• Great change management and collaboration skills.

Yamal Trade Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Yamal LNG Joint Venture, is a company incorporated in Singapore which business is linked to Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) produced in Yamal Peninsula (Russia).

Yamal Trade (YT) is looking for a Shipping Commercial Analyst to join its Shipping Team. Yamal Trade is holding long term Time Charters to service its pioneering Arctic LNG project. The LNG Chartered fleet is composed of 26 LNG vessels. The position is based in Singapore.

This is a great opportunity to be part of the dynamic shipping team in our Singapore office, where the core commercial activities happen. The candidate is expected to gain commercial acumen quickly to be an active contributor of the business.

The appointee will be involved in LNG Cargo complete logistics: loading, maritime transport, potential rescheduling/reloading at transshipment point, discharge and reconciliation with Buyer.

This role will interact primarily with the Shipping team located in Moscow and Singapore. The context is one of efficient and reliable business process relative to the LNG cargo documentation from Yamal LNG plant at Sabetta, Russian Federation to the end Buyers Worldwide.

Role Objectives

To provide analytical expertise to our Shipping and other commercial teams in Yamal Trade.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and run Economic modelling related to shipping scenarios;
2. Analytical support to all chartering/shipping activities of Yamal Trade;
3. Voyage economics modelling in cooperation with ADP and Commercial teams;
4. Assist the Shipping team in selecting vessels and drafting and negotiating charters (spot and term) to support Yamal Trade’s shipping demand;
5. Develop and maintain working relationship with key external stakeholders - owners and shipbrokers regarding vessel types performance and economics;
6. Co-operation with other teams within Yamal Trade and Yamal LNG (ADP, Commercial and Finance teams)
7. Other responsibilities as directed by management.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Maritime/Business or equivalent qualification
• Office-based experience in Chartering, Shipping Operations or Research with an oil major, a trading house, independent shipowner or shipbroker;
• Commercial mindset and strong analytic skills;
• Good understanding of the shipping industry, its contractual framework and the network of key stakeholders;
• Good English written & communication skills
• Good time management and able to prioritize tasks
