Co-Developement Business Unit is hiring for System Analyst

What will you do?

• Understand the business processes and work with users to design and develop an end-to-end solution.
• Provide advice and assistance to business users in the effective use of application system and information technology.
• Manage the development of the application system and ensure the project is implemented within budget and according to schedule.
• Design solutions that are of quality and functional to ensure a good user experience.
• Monitors the performance of the application and work with relevant stakeholders to troubleshoot any issues surfaced in the production environment.
• Work closely with various technical, solution and information architects to ensure the application developed is robust and align with the Enterprise Architecture.
• Produce technical documentation for application systems.

What are we looking for?

• Experience in application development using the following technologies and programming languages such as Mobile, web, object-oriented programming, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Mainframe.
• Experience in Project Management and is able to manage user expectation and deliver within project timeline
• Experience/knowledge in Scrum /DevOps concepts
• Experience/knowledge in the various technologies supporting CI/CD such as GitLab, Confluence, JIRA, SonarQube
• Experience/Knowledge in Cloud, microservices architecture and container technologies such Docker, Kubernetes
• To have a keen interesting in IT / programming / system designs
• Good understanding of SDLC.
• Secure coding to prevent application vulnerabilities (for eg. Cross-site scripting; Injection vulnerability flows such as SQL injection, command injection; Race conditions; Improper error / exception handling etc)
• Application integration with government services such as CorPass, SingPass.
• A Pass in ICT Assessment Certification for Solution Architect or Software Developer by NUS-ISS is required

Position Description

The Coal Trading Analyst will join the Coal Trading team within JERAGM in Singapore. The candidate will play a key part of providing trade analysis and commercial, logistical and administrative support required to assist the Coal Trading team and on a day-to-day basis will focus on JERAGM’s Japan business (both JERA and 3rd parties in Japan).

The candidate will coordinate closely with other members of the Coal Trading team and JERAGM’s middle and back-office functions, in a collaborative and open manner.

Key Role Responsibilities

• Assist with daily trade for our Japan business to prepare documentation and data and communication with JERA and external counterparties in Japan
• Assist with daily trade amendments to ensure trade capture and P&L is accurate
• Preparing weekly market update presentations for the Coal Trading team
• Conducting market research for growth areas and new counterparties in Japan
• Analysing trade data for our Japan business to provide unique insights to the traders to support better decision making
• Ad-hoc analysis for our Japan business as required by manager / executives / wider business

Qualifications

Key Qualifications and Experience

• At least 8 to 12 years’ experience working in a commodity trading environment or other related commercial industries
• At least 1 to 2 years’ experience within a Power Utility environment (especially coal) is required
• Must have a broad knowledge of the Japan power industry especially JERA with an understanding of coal end users in Japan (both utilities and industrial) and their coal sourcing requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software
• Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• Written and verbal fluency in Japanese (JLPT N1) or similar, is a must as the candidate has to manage Japanese speaking stakeholders both at working and management levels

• Conduct research within assigned area of fixed income market coverage using information sources, including financial statements, earnings reports, published research, financial databases, corporate and management access
• Generate timely, and actionable bond investment ideas. Work with other members of the research team to evaluate a comprehensive range of bonds and bond funds
• Achieve and maintain a coverage list of bond issuers, and provide periodic research recommendations for bonds in the coverage list and newly issued bonds

Requirements

• Experience working with systems such as Bloomberg is desirable
• Good understanding of financial statements, bond mathematics, and macro drivers
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills, numerical capability, and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills. Strong command of both spoken and written English. Mandarin speaking capability is a plus
• Demonstrated interest in and passion for investing
