Reporting to the Director of Engineering, your job responsibilities include, but not limited to:-

Responsibilities

• Assists the Director of Engineering to prepare annual budget for departmental expenses including manpower requirements.
• Assists the Director of Engineering to oversee the efficient operation of the department. Prioritise, plan, schedule, assign and supervise all staff of maintenance department.
• Co-ordinates with architects, M&E consultants and various government departments for projects approval, executions and licences etc, as directed by the Director of Engineering.
• Plan and direct the preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, work orders and special projects ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Establishes and co-ordinates the annual in-house maintenance programme.
• Oversee mechanical and electrical testing or commissioning as and when necessary.
• Oversee the maintenance of the physical appearance and operational efficiency of the hotel, including physical, mechanical, electrical, plumbing etc. Focusing on operations, guestsand owner’s satisfaction.
• Initiates sustainability/ energy conservation programs for the hotel.
• Assists and co-ordinates with other departments regarding maintenance and administration matters, including their budget plan for new/replacement of equipment, renovation, etc.
• Coach and guide staff and contractors to ensure that they are familiar and comply with the hotel standards in performing maintenance activities.
• Train staff on proper use and periodic maintenance of all equipment.
• Ensure maintenance staff are wearing proper uniform with name tag and upholds hotel’s grooming and hygiene standards.
• Ensure hotel and work areas are maintained to standard and that all safety equipment. and conditions are to code.
• Ensure proper records are kept relating to the hotel including repair and service records.
• Develop, implement, and direct all emergency programs.
• Prepare reports as required by the Director of Engineering and Management.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel engineering operations, with at least 2-3 years in a in similar capacity.
• At least a Polytechnic Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services or equivalent.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
• Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering.
• Good communication (verbal and written) and good leadership skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
