General Overview

This position is part of the site Mechanical team that provides technical/maintenance support to the Operation and Project teams in LNG Terminal. He/she would be mainly responsible for overseeing the safe and reliable operations and maintenance of the Terminal assets from the Mechanical discipline perspective.

Roles and ResponsibilIties

The incumbent shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following scope of tasks and duties:

• Provide technical/maintenance support and solutions to the terminal operation Teams including supporting the development of maintenance strategy focusing on equipment reliability, compliance, spares inventory requirement, preventive and predictive maintenance programmes and mechanical maintenance procedures for mechanical equipment.
• Lead the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, commissioning and replacement of mechanical static equipment and piping systems.

• Responsible to ensure compliance to applicable regulations/industry best practices, safe to operate, fit for purpose, maintainable and reliable for the site’s modified or newly build mechanical systems (such as marine loading arm, pumps, pressure vessel, safety device , etc).
• Manage and ensure list of statutory equipment (lifting machine, lifting gears, pressure vessel, safety valves, etc) are timely serviced and inspected in accordance to statutory codes and compliance standards
• Perform root cause analysis on equipment failure and provide recommendations to resolve technical issues which may also arise from vibration, RT, UT, oil and other analysis as part of predictive maintenance programmes
• Manage and maintain historical information on static and rotating equipment such as running hours, data statistical information on all plant shut down and loss of production events caused by mechanical systems, engineering documents and review applicable codes and standards for compliance purpose
• Lead technical discussions, execute and manage project schedules and cost and collaboration with external and internal stakeholders, vendors for end of life and improvement project using SLNG Management of Change (MOC) process for mechanical equipment
• Liaise with external stakeholder including government agencies on approval and risk of shutdown of mechanical system that will affect gas-send out
• Participate in RCA, RBI, HAZID, HAZOP, Model Review studies for mechanical packages, co-ordinates and close out Mechanical related issues
• Participate in emergency response and may be assigned to a specific role and responsibility for such purpose

Work Experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in maintenance of plant equipment, rotating machinery and static equipment, preferably in oil/petrochemical or related industries
• Good knowledge and experience working on different types of in-service pipeline inspection. Knowledge of the LNG / natural gas or other hydrocarbon industries an advantage
• Relevant technical experience in maintenance of mechanical/ machinery systems i.e compressor, pump, pressure vessel, hydraulic components and piping system.
• Conversant with local codes, regulations and standards, equipment inspection and schedule requirements. Certified in API, vibration and other analysis standards will be well regarded

• Support the management of on-premises and cloud systems across Microsoft, AIX, Virtual (VMWare or Hyper-V), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, and Microsoft 365 infrastructure such as Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
• Contribute to the design, setup, configuration, implementation, and deployment of new server environments and cloud technologies on Azure or AWS.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in system support and server administration, including implementing and managing cloud infrastructure, with a strong understanding of Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud technologies.
• Practical experience in implementing and configuring Azure and AWS services such as virtual machines, application services, load balancers, SQL Managed Instances, site-to-site VPNs, storage solutions, networking, security, logging, and monitoring.
• Hands-on experience in managing on-premises environments, including Windows Server, VMware vSphere, and Hyper-V.
• Proficient in administering Microsoft 365 cloud technologies such as Exchange Online, Entra ID, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Intune.

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

In anticipation of future bids and projects in Defence and Public Security sectors, Engineering Department requires system engineers who has a track record of building, deploying and maintaining the IT infrastructure in an enterprise environment. Domain knowledge in enterprise data networks and/or cybersecurity is desirable.

The System Engineer is to assist with IT infrastructure solutions according to project requirements and drive transformation for internal/external customers by adopting established platforms. The candidate will be involved with the requirements gathering, preparation of proposals, and conduct of presentations to customers or system owners. Upon confirmation of projects, the candidate is expected to take on an active role in the definition, procurement, deployment and operations of the necessary IT infrastructure covering but not limited to server hardware, virtualisation middleware, operating system and backup solution etc. Where necessary, the candidate may be tasked to support data networking initiatives, cybersecurity implementations and other COTS deployment depending on the candidate’s technical background and interests. Therefore, a good understanding of cybersecurity principles and concepts such as network segmentation, network access controls and 802.1X is desirable.

KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As an IT Infrastructure System Engineer, you are accountable for:

· Assist project or team leads in evaluating and recommending the appropriate IT infrastructure products (commercial or open source) that will meet project or customer requirements

· Take charge or support the deployment of said products, including integration and testing activities at the System-as-a-whole level

· Work with engineers from other disciplines (e.g. software, cybersecurity, integration) in the delivery of turn-key systems or proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives

· Monitor the health of infrastructure services and perform availability management for servers and its services, and assist in the resolution of operational issues

· Create & maintain technical documentation on Operations / Audit Best Practices, troubleshooting & related solutions knowledge base

· Manage the system recovery process (backup/restore of Infrastructure services and critical production server data and image) and assist in preparing incident reports in the event of outages

· Participate in failover or disaster recovery exercises of the IT infrastructure when required

· Deploy security fixes on Infrastructure services in accordance to enterprise vulnerability and patching strategy

· Administer servers, VMware/Hyper-V platforms and domain controllers/LDAP servers.

· Participate in the optimization of system performance and system capacity planning.

· Support deployment/configuration tasks of Cisco switches and network firewalls (Check Point / Fortinet / Palo Alto)

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

· Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines

· At least five years of relevant IT experience in designing (not mandatory but preferred), deploying and managing IT infrastructure systems.

· Required knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2k16/2k19, Linux, VMware/Hyper-V virtualization, and Azure Cloud

· Knowledge of infrastructure best practices, system technologies, operation processes and system engineering methodologies

· Working knowledge of cybersecurity technologies will be desirable

· Technical certification in cybersecurity, network or system technologies, such as CCNP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VCP (VMware), VMCE (Veeam), OSCP, SSCP etc. will be advantageous.

· Good written and oral communication skills
