JOB SUMMARY:

The Engineering Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of all hotel facilities, systems, and equipment to guarantee guest comfort, safety, and satisfaction. This role requires proactive maintenance, repair work, and troubleshooting to address any technical issues within the hotel. The Engineering Technician will work closely with other hotel departments to support operational needs, uphold safety standards, and ensure that all technical systems function properly, contributing to an overall exceptional guest experience.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Guest and Facility Support:Ensure the smooth operation of all hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, for the safety and comfort of guests.
  Respond promptly to guest requests and issues related to the hotel’s facilities, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum satisfaction.
  Carry out preventive maintenance tasks, addressing any technical issues before they impact guests.
  Assist with repairs of guest rooms, public areas, and common hotel facilities, ensuring guest comfort and operational efficiency.
  
• System & Equipment Management:Regularly inspect hotel equipment, including heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems, to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards.
  Perform troubleshooting and repairs to hotel systems, machinery, and equipment, identifying and resolving issues quickly and effectively.
  Maintain a clean and organized mechanical room, ensuring all tools and supplies are readily available and properly stored.
  Document maintenance activities, including repairs and inspections, in the Duty Log to ensure clear communication and follow-up on any unresolved issues.
  
• Safety & Compliance:Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, building codes, and hotel standards.
  Respond to emergency situations, including fire alarms, water leaks, or power failures, ensuring a safe and quick resolution.
  Conduct safety checks on all hotel systems and infrastructure to identify and prevent potential hazards.
  Assist in emergency drills and safety training, ensuring the hotel staff is well-prepared for any situation.
  
• Collaboration with Hotel Departments:Work closely with other hotel departments, including housekeeping, front desk, and security, to address maintenance issues promptly and prevent any inconvenience to guests.
  Assist in setting up and maintaining hotel equipment for special events or large group functions as needed.
  Provide technical support to other hotel staff, offering guidance or assistance on maintenance-related tasks when necessary.
  
• Other Operational Duties:Ensure that all hotel vehicles, including buggies and other transport equipment, are properly maintained, clean, and in working condition.
  Recharge and maintain the hotel's buggy fleet, ensuring it is operational and ready for use by guests and staff.
  Maintain a tidy and organized environment in all work areas, ensuring that tools and supplies are stored appropriately.
  Perform other duties as requested by supervisors or hotel management to support the hotel's operational needs.

• At least 2 years of experience in maintenance, repair, or engineering, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting systems and equipment.
• Previous experience in a hotel or similar service environment is an advantage.
• Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment.

High-Tension (HT) Switchboard Service Technician

1. Able to carry out high-tension switchboard servicing.

2. To assist the Project Engineering with day-to-day high tension (HT) switchboard servicing and installation.

3. Able to understand electrical as-build drawings and switchboard switches and diversion.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Receiving installation, testing, commissioning, and service schedule instructions from the Project Supervisor/Manager.
• Preparing to attend installation and service jobs, which involves contacting customers and landlords to schedule installations and service requests, and organizing the necessary project equipment, spare parts, and safety gear.
• Diagnosing and isolating faults, communicating with customers about the cause of the issues, and outlining corrective actions.
• Resolve faults by replacing defective components, readjusting system settings, and reinforcing end-user training for proper equipment usage.
• Escalate unresolved project issues to the supervisor for further guidance and action.
• Coordinate and schedule site testing with the main contractor, subcontractors, and customers as required.
• Manage and account for company-issued assets, including tools, laptops, vehicles, intellectual property, and more.
• Report on any follow-ups regarding outstanding service jobs and submit weekly timesheets.
• Participate in all job-related training to stay informed about the solutions offered by the company.

Singapore University of Technology and Design immediately invites applications for multiple Research Assistant positions to work in Singapore, in the following areas:

• Robust perception, planning, and control for field robots
• Simultaneous localization and mapping
• Experimental robotics
• Novel mechanism synthesis and analysis
• Electromechanical system design experience is strongly preferred

Your primary responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing reconfigurable robotic platforms to achieve project goals and KPIs (spanning surveillance, maintenance, and payload-carrying robot platforms)
• Implementing and researching specifications for various subsystem components, component analysis, designing for durability, maintainability, and estimating physical constraints required to achieve expected functionality and reconfigurability .
• Have a good understanding of the electrical system of the robot so as to optimize the mechanical designs
• Have a strong understanding of the PCB design and fabrication
• Have a strong understanding of different manufacturing processes and manufacturing constraints
• Designing mounts for onboard sensors and computing equipment with consideration for dust and waterproof requirements
