Key Qualifications

• Multi-disciplinary understanding of optics, general physics principles and basic EE concepts.
• Strong opto-electrical experience on lab measurement, characterization, and failure analysis, to drive key design feedbacks and decisions.
• Expertise in ground-up development of custom optical setups using advanced tools in optical / electrical metrology, including free-space optics, spectrometers, light source, photo detectors and associated analog signal conditioning/amplification etc. Hands-on alignment experience is a plus.
• Experience in optical design, analysis, optimization, and tolerancing using ray-tracing software (LightTools, Zemax, etc). Custom fixture mechanical design (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc) is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and solid teamwork and leadership skills.
• Competency with scripting (Matlab, Python, C, etc) for modeling, automation, data acquisition, and data analysis.
• Industry experience in miniaturized optical systems design, validation, and volume manufacturing support is preferred.

Description

• Design and develop groundbreaking optical sensor solutions from concept to production.
• Develop, qualify, and operate custom characterization tools for optical system design and performance validation.
• Product and system simulation/analysis using a variety of software tools to support engineering development, validation, and characterization (e.g., LightTools, Zemax, Lumerical, Matlab, JMP etc.).
• Lead failure analysis of optical modules and corrective actions with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers.
• Author regular technical communications for executive and cross-functional briefings.
• Business travel to support product development and supplier teams as necessary.

Education

Degree in Optics, Physics, or Electrical Engineering. M.S/PhD, or B.S. with proven hardware development experience.

· Managing the day-to-day planning and engineering initiatives for the project

· Responsible for project functions; e.g. Site Management, Project Control Management, Engineering Management, Procurement, Construction Management, etc.

· Supervise and prepare methods for the project and any installation procedures, task plans and guidance

· Monitor site progress against budget and forecast schedule

· Ensure EHS and QA/QC standards of works by trade cons are met

· Ensure accurate and timely reporting of works progress to Senior Manager

· Identify and notify Senior Manager and Executive Manager (PMO) of any additional works or changes that constitute a variation

· Always ensure coordination and communication with all trade cons

· Prepare meeting minutes for project meeting

· Manage project closeout and obtain all warranties for final acceptance

• Lead the review and consolidation of project builds results, postmortem analysis, improvement plan and insights
