As a Technical Support Engineer - Instrument/Electrical Engineering, you will:

• Complete our New Hire Orientation and a thorough training program where you learn about our products, customers and company culture via classroom training, customer interactions, visiting operating facilities, shadowing and hands on experience helping customers get value from their software systems.
• Enable our customers’ success to manage their operations by supporting them remotely through phone, email, web channels or on-site to best serve their environment while performing a variety of complex technical challenges.
• Teach our customers how to use our software as an instructor for public classes, or assist in the development of your peers by getting involved as an internal instructor or job trainer
• Develop your business acumen by communicating frequently with our customers to understand how they utilize our software to solve their business challenges, and by collaborating with different AVEVA departments to deliver and improve our customers’ experience with our company and products.
• Grow your technical skill-set by developing a solid foundation in the AVEVA Engineering software portfolio, related software and industry technologies.

Responsibilities

As an SAP Basis Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with project managers, business stakeholders, and technical teams to offer expert guidance and support across a spectrum of projects, ranging from minor enhancements to significant multi-year initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass leading and supporting the SAP system through key upcoming projects, including system migrations, and facilitating the integration of new functionalities into the SAP landscape to support business initiatives.

• Serve as a knowledge resource for HANA environments, SAP R/3 4.7, ECC 607, BW 7.0, Solution Manager, Enterprise Portals capabilities, and best practices.
• Perform core SAP Basis administrator functions, such as software installation and setup, enhancement pack and support pack installation and upgrades, performance monitoring, tuning, and capacity management, adhering to enterprise standards and leveraging best operating practices.
• Actively participate in SAP infrastructure design, encompassing server, storage, high availability, and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Support SAP Landscape strategy, including client copies and system refreshes.
• Prepare comprehensive project documentation, covering specifications, requirement summaries, logical system design documents, state diagrams, and test scripts.
• Monitor, analyze, and identify trends for system performance and resource utilization.
• Respond to system problems on a 24x7 basis, participating in on-call rotation.
• Assist with change control, incident response, and testing processes for infrastructure changes or problems across the SAP landscape.
• Collaborate with database administration resources in HANA, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle environments.
• Collaborate across IT functions, including server teams, networking, and security teams, to drive solutions for SAP that align with standards and operating plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
• 6+ years of experience in SAP BASIS/Security Administration, including one or more of the following SAP modules: HANA, ECC, BW, PI, ERP, Solution Manager, and CRM.
• Demonstrated knowledge of best practices for SAP Basis Administration and operations.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with business analysis techniques and methodologies, including User Stories, Use Cases, Requirements Gathering, Requirements Tracking, UAT, Systems Testing, Agile Methodology, and Waterfall Methodology.
• Analytical and creative, with the ability to solve problems and develop solutions accordingly.
• Highly self-motivated and detail oriented.
• Experience in summarizing and presenting complex topics to non-technical audiences.
• Experience building relationships between IT and business teams.
• Familiarity with SAP NetWeaver 7.4.
• Exposure to SAP HANA.
