We are offering a unique opportunity to join the SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Biodiversity Medicine as a Bioinformatician. In this role, you will contribute to projects related to plant genomic analysis with a focus on regional plants and food security in Southeast Asia. You will integrate information from protein analysis and metabolomics to understand and realise the potential of this plants. Your expertise in data analysis will be crucial in managing, extracting, mining, and analyzing NGS data, as well as preparing research publications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plant Genomic Analysis: Conduct in-depth genomic studies on medicinal plants to enhance food security and explore their therapeutic potential.
- Multi-Omics Integration: Combine data from genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics to gain comprehensive insights into plant biology.
- NGS Data Analysis: Utilize advanced NGS techniques and tools for high-throughput data analysis.
- Research Publication: Lead, prepare and contribute to high-impact research publications.
Job Requirements:
- Educational Background: PhD in Bioinformatics, Genomics, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields with at least 1-year experience in NGS data analysis.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity in Unix-based OS and High-Performance Computing (HPC).
- Programming Skills: Competent in genomic data exploration, analysis, and visualization using any programming language.
- Multi-Omics Data: Experience in preprocessing and analyzing multi-omics sequencing data (DNA/RNA/ChIP-Seq) using bioinformatics tools/software/pipelines.
- Project Management: Ability to manage and lead projects, either individually or as part of a team.
- Innovation and Initiative: Demonstrated ability to generate innovative ideas and concepts to drive projects forward.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong team player with good interpersonal skills.
