In This role, your goals will be:

In 3 months:

• Understanding advertising media market environment, GroupM’s value proposition and familiar with the Company culture
• Familiarize with the group policies, reporting systems, IFRS and ICFR controls guidelines
• Establish good rapport with the agencies /commercial being handled and exercise in partnering with stakeholders
• Good understanding of monthly closing process, procedures and reports submission

In 6 months:

• Able to make comments on the agency’s financial performance and involve in the daily reporting/operation of the business and hands on in the coaching functions (Financeplus in Malaysia).
• Provide appropriate insights analysis and strongly support fact-based decision-making process based on business environment and specialist financial knowledge
• Conduct review and support monthly, quarterly, and yearly management reporting, financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, business reviews and insights as well as to ensure timely, quality, and accurate reports submission in accordance with regional and global guidelines, business trends in conjunction with group direction/guidelines and policies
• Key custodian of internal controls and assurance that processes, transactions comply with IFRS, group policies and ICFR guidelines
• Work with FinancePlus to manage and monitor company’s performance and KPIs
• Liaison with external & internal auditors, tax and corporate agent for audit, statutory, taxes and corporate filing matters

In 12 months:

• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, operations standards/processes in accordance with the ICFR guidelines, group policies to achieve growth, improvement and recommendations for operational and reporting efficiency
• Responsible for timely and accurate analysis data used for performance measurement is complete, timely, consistent, valid and relevant to address stakeholders needs
• Partnering with IT for system interfaces and implementation for business and align with reporting requirements
• Complete ad hoc requests and perform other duties as needed in a timely manner which align with business initiatives.

Minimum qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting/commerce, preferably with a CPA/CA or equivalent professional qualification with minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in financial reporting
• Demonstrate ability to acquire new knowledge and skills to adapt to change
• Detail oriented with a good appreciation for risk and control procedures and environments
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the agency, FinancePlus and Regional with strong self-starter characteristics
• Conscientiousness, attention to details, attentiveness to accuracy and while maintaining a positive attitude
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with ability to adapt to the challenging needs of the organization and demands of both internal and external stakeholders.
• Comfort with ambiguity, mature and ability to effectively multi-tasking and prioritize within a fast-paced demanding environment

Full job description

As an accounts officer in our company, you will work in a small team covering all sides of accounting for the group. You will have a great opportunity to develop this position into a more senior role as you grow in confidence.

The Position

Core responsibility is to ensure the smoothness of daily closing tasks:

• Must be well versed with Xero and other accounting softwares
• Bank reconciliations
• Daily bookkeeping and entries into Xero accounting software
• Ensure that trade AP and AR positions are fully recorded and reconciled
• Manage claims and reimbursements
• Perform GST submissions
• Attending to customer enquiries related to payments
• Other duties as assigned by managers

Salary and Benefits

The salary is dependent on your capability, experience and skills. The typical starting salary is from SGD 2,500 to SGD 4,000 per month for a driven candidate, plus discretionary AWS and bonus.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the daily accounting operations and support various accounting matters.
• Assist in General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions.
• Support GST filing and Form 5 submission processes.
• Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements for reporting purposes.
• Assist in the preparation and review of the annual budget.
• Liaise with tax agents and assist in coordination with internal and external auditors.
• Perform ad-hoc accounting assignments as directed by the superior.

Job Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Job Requirement:

Roles and responsibilities:

• Review and verify daily operational accounting entries, including sales, purchases, payment requests, and settlement of receivables/payables
• Participate in monthly financial closing and quarterly group reporting
• Prepare company financial statements for audit and statutory reporting purposes
• Ensure adherence to internal control processes
• Act as the key liaison for audit, tax, and corporate secretarial matters
• Ensure compliance with Singapore's tax requirements, including corporate tax, GST, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and BEPS regulations
• Perform any ad-hoc tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• Degree in Accountancy or Chartered Accountant/ACCA qualified is MUST
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in accounting and tax
• STRONG knowledge of Singapore FRS and tax reporting requirements, including corporate income tax, GST, and withholding tax
• Experience in transfer pricing and international taxation is advantageous
• Ability to analyze financial figures and troubleshoot issues
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including knowledge of PivotTables, VLOOKUP, etc
• Independent and able to work with minimum supervision
• Experience in the Trading company would be highly recognized
