Purpose:

The Senior Associate works with the tax team to provide tax advisory and compliance services to a mixed portfolio of corporate and individual clients.

Core Responsibilities:

• Work with the tax team to provide tax compliance services to a mixed portfolio of corporate and individual clients.
• Support clients on the queries raised by the IRAS, including tax audits.
• Assist with tax advisory and consulting assignments.
• Build and manage relationship with clients.
• Core responsibilities will include reviewing work done by junior members of the tax team.

Tasks / Duties:

• Review / preparation of corporate and individual tax computations and returns.
• Liaise with IRAS and the client on tax related matters.
• Handle withholding tax returns, applications for Certificate of Residence and other matters in relation to tax.
• Attending to queries issued by the IRAS.

Job Purpose:

Responsible for managing the tax affairs of the company and overseeing the Indonesian Tax team, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations, and optimizing the company's tax position to minimize tax liabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement tax strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
• Provide advice and guidance on tax issues to other departments within the company.
• Manage the preparation and filing of all tax returns (e.g., corporate income tax, value-added tax, withholding tax) and related compliance activities for Singapore, overseeing these works for the rest of the affiliates; managing the team based in Indonesia.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of all tax liabilities.
• Lead the request and management of the GTP for the Singapore entity.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess the impact on the company's tax position.
• Identify and evaluate tax planning opportunities to minimize the company's tax liabilities.
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors and authorities.
• Ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations, coordinating the tasks across the group.
• Provide tax support for the company's mergers and acquisitions activities.
• Coordinate and manage tax audits and disputes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations in all relevant jurisdictions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• CPA, CMA, or similar certification preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience in tax management, preferably in a multinational company or a public accounting firm.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations in multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience with tax planning, compliance, and audit activities.
• Strong knowledge/experience of Indonesia tax practices will be an advantage.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing teams preferred.
• Proficiency in tax software and MS Office applications.

• Preparing and overseeing financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statements).
• Analyzing financial data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
• Ensuring that all financial reports comply with relevant accounting standards and regulations (such as IFRS or GAAP).
• Managing the accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring timely payment processing and collection of funds.
• Overseeing vendor and client accounts to ensure accuracy in invoicing, payments, and receipts.
• Ensuring that outstanding invoices are followed up on and cleared in a timely manner.
• Ensuring the accurate preparation and filing of corporate taxes.
• Collaborating with tax consultants or in-house teams to minimize the company’s tax liability while ensuring compliance with tax laws.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of corporate tax compliance clients
• Work on tax advisory engagements
• Provide clear updates to the leaders in the team
• Review and improve the process
• Identify tax planning opportunities
• Provide technical training, and
• Mentor and manage junior tax staff including Associates and Senior Associates

Qualifications and requirements:

• Preferably possess any recognised degree in any discipline or equivalent qualification in accounting and/or relevant Professional Qualification
• At least 3 years of relevant corporate tax working experience
• Attained / Attaining Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP) Level 2 Corporate Tax accreditation would be an added advantage
• Leading a team and have strong understanding of corporate tax issues
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to understand client requirements
• Good writing and communication skills with good knowledge on Microsoft office
