Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage and oversee financial transactions, ensuring the accuracy of accounts payable and receivable, government subventions, fixed assets, and payroll. The ideal candidate will also handle GST reporting, banking matters, and grant claims, while ensuring compliance with all applicable financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage full sets of accounts and support day-to-day accounting operations (i.e. AP & AR process, GL, account reconciliation)
2. Ensure timely, accurate month-end closing and financial reporting to management
3. Responsible for preparation and closing of annual financial statements
4. Ensure accurate preparation and submission of government subvention and grant claims
5. Ensure proper accounting of fixed assets including tagging, disposal and asset count
6. Coordinate and liaise with external parties like external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, and government authorities where required
7. Prepare or review payments for staff claims and vendor invoices
8. Responsible for all banking matters
9. Responsible for payroll processing and CPF submissions
10. Prepare quarterly GST filing
11. Assist in annual budget process
12. Ad hoc duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
· A degree in Accounting or ACCA or its equivalent
· Minimum 5 years working experience
· Able to work independently, proactive, able to take initiative and responsibility
· Organized, meticulous with a high degree of accuracy
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
· Strong analytical abilities
· Possess a keen sense of urgency
· Willing to learn and have good problem-solving skills
· Good team player and willing to support teammates
· Can-do attitude, driven and passionate about work
· IT savvy
· Familiar with Google Workspace, Xero and Opensoft (preferred but not mandatory)
