Strengthen the tax practice within companies in Singapore and the APAC region:

Singapore Tax Matters

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of all direct and indirect tax returns for SG Group of companies to the IRAS
• Manage all tax queries raised by IRAS as well as queries raise by SG Group of companies during day-to-day operations
• Initiate, manage and complete transfer pricing (TP) documentation preparation for SG Group of companies and act as the main contact point between TP consultant and SG Group companies
• Ensure timely and accurate tax provisioning and deferred tax computation within tight deadline for group reporting
• Initiate Major Exporter Scheme (MES) license renewal before the expiry date
• Provide leadership to SG Group of companies and ensure tax governance compliance
• Highlight any potential tax risk and make suggestion for improvement
• Standardisation of tax practice and treatments within the SG Group companies

Regional Tax Matters

• Visualization of tax issues of the regional Group companies and make proposal of counter-measures
• Collecting information on tax changes in the APAC region and grasp the impact to the Group companies
• Support to tax risks associated with reorganization of group company, guidance on risk mitigation, and support for M&A activities
• Support regional Group companies in any tax audit case, liaise with local tax consultant as well as local tax authorities in each country, where required
• Support and monitor Group companies in respect of transfer pricing risk and suggest counter-measures
• Provide sound advise and guidance to the regional companies as and when required
• Monitor effective tax rate in the region and make suggestion for improvement
• Improve tax awareness in the region
• Reduce unnecessary withholding tax expense for the Group and make suggestion for improvement
• Enhance Tax network in APAC Region by working closely with Japan HQ and each regional companies / Country Tax managers
• Functions as a point of contact for group company tax-related measures
• Initiate GST ASK assessment for the renewal of Major Exporter Scheme (MES) license before the expiry date
• Support Japan HQ for Master File preparation, Country by Country Report (CbCR), Pillar 2 project, and any other tax project or queries as required
• Support Australia and New Zealand entities for Hybrid Mismatch compliance matters
• Support Japan HQ for tax matters in relation to Japanese Controlled Foreign Corporation (JCFC) rules
• Ensure timely and accurate tax filing in India

Qualification

• Approximately 10 years of tax experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proven experience in tax compliance and planning
• Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational management skills

Your main responsibility will be to provide timely and accurate services for our clients, and to analyse transaction structures and assist by providing preliminary findings in respect of tax due diligence reviews, restructuring advice and ad-hoc tax advisory projects, etc.

GST

Responsibilities:

• Assist with GST compliance work, which involves preparation and/or review of clients’ GST returns prior to submission
• Assist with the application of GST registration, exemption, and schemes
• Assist clients with IRAS GST audits and queries
• Opportunities to liaise with clients as part of servicing the assigned portfolios and develop client relationships and seek out additional business opportunities
• Opportunities to conduct GST healthchecks such as Assisted Self-Help Kit (ASK) reviews, and Assisted Compliance Assurance Programme (ACAP) reviews
• Opportunities to have advisory exposure in the course of handling GST compliance work, advising clients on GST implications and applicable treatment of their business transactions
• Opportunities to meet and prospect new clients as part of growing the GST business

Corporate Tax

Responsibilities:

• Extract and analyse financial/tax data and understand the business operation to identify potential tax risks of a target.
• Coordinate and attend meetings with clients, target’s representatives and inter-office advisors.
• Assist in preparing reports, in particular for tax due diligence or reviewing sales and purchase agreements to meet the tight turnaround time.
• Assist in tax research/preparatory work and prepare the advisory work within the tight turnaround time.
• Collate and gather information from inter-office people for fee proposals, deliverables, etc.
• Prepare marketing collaterals or presentations.
• Assist in pitching for new clients or projects including preparing meaningful proposals and attending meetings.
• It could range from deferred tax analysis to preparing tax computations for corporate and individual
• Administrative work such as folder management, risk management, etc

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant disciplines, such as ACCA or Diploma in Accountancy or Business management.
• 1 - 3 years and 2 - 5 years of relevant experience will be considered for Associate and Senior role respectively, but candidates with no experience are also welcome to apply!
• A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Possesses good writing skills.
• Demonstrates critical thinking skills and good attention to details.
• Exposures to ASK reviews, and ACAP reviews would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Carry out full spectrum of month end closing activities and ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies (IFRS) and local statutory laws and regulations
• Manage the AR/AP subledger, General Ledger, Intercompany, Fixed Assets and Cash Management functions for the company
• Handle invoicing to customers and payment to suppliers and intercompany billings
• Prepare of annual budget with costs analysis and work with HODs for budget submission
• Prepare monthly management reports analysing financial performance of the entities and highlight to management
• Liaise with Group Finance function on any accounting or tax issues and compliance to local statutory and tax laws
• Act as part of Group Finance team in specific subject matter relating to the Region or the Group and perform consolidation tasks.
• Be the process owner for Subledger, General Ledger, Fixed Assets and Treasury and actively participate in system enhancement and process improvement projects.
• Handle and work closely with external and internal auditors for any financial and SOX/operational audits compliance.
• Guide and support junior staff to close the books
• Drive and support any ad-hoc projects for process improvements and tasks from time-to-time as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification with ACCA/CA/CPA
• 4-5 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years as an auditor.
• Audit experience is a must, fresh auditor that has 4 years of experiences and beyond are welcome to apply

About the role

We are inviting a self-driven individual to lead and manage a full fledge of accounting and finance activities for a client’s portfolio. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of tasks and problems to support international businesses, as well as being involved to other internal commercial matters and corporate secretary type of tasks.

Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Team Lead or Directors, understanding the business models of each assigned clients to act as an advisor, the duties and responsibilities are:

• Prepare and maintain the full set of accounts (AR/AP and GL) of the assigned clients’ portfolio along with supporting schedules and any other necessary reconciliation, as well as reporting and support cashflow forecasts and variance analysis.
• Prepare GST / Withholding Tax returns as well as statutory yearly reporting (i.e. XBRL files, Financial statements under IFRS and SFRS, etc.).
• Perform full monthly payroll processing including: maintain HR master data, process pay-runs, upkeep social security administration, statutory filing and annual income tax return submissions.
• Prepare the annual tax returns for the assigned clients.
• Assist with company secretary activities for the assigned clients portfolio.
• Work on any other ad-hoc requests from clients as included in the agreed scope.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accountancy / Finance or CA/CPA
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel
• Positive attitude, highly motivated and with an attention for detail

• Able to work independently to meet deadlines
