Corporate Accounting:

• Aid in the day-to-day operations of corporate accounting.
• Manage accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes.
• Supervise and coordinate inter-company fund transfers.
• Compile the complete set of accounts.

Vessel Accounting:

• Manage vessel accounting autonomously.
• Possess expertise in Portage Bill Accounting.
• Generate fund requests for owners and oversee receipts.
• Create comprehensive vessel reports with accompanying documentation.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely completion of reports.
• Review vessel reports meticulously and address queries from owners.
• Assist in reconciling inter-company vessel balances.

Financial Reporting Tasks:

• Supply Management Information System (MIS) data related to vessel reports to the immediate supervisor/head office.
• Assist in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audits.
• Communicate with various fleet offices and departments.
• Collaborate with the Head Office on inter-company transactions.
• Assist in providing supporting documents and audit schedules to auditors during year-end audits.
• Engage with the accounts team at the vessel owner’s office.

Ad Hoc Assignments:

• Manage impromptu tasks to support the finance and accounts department.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience with a robust understanding of accounting, particularly in handling vessel reports independently.
• Hold a graduate degree or Higher Diploma in Accountancy, Business, or a related field.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake the following roles and responsibilities:-

• Supervise and handle full set of accounts (GL, AR, AP, Fixed Asset, Inventory);
• Prepare monthly management reports and analysis;
• Prepare year end statutory reporting;
• Draw up annual budget and cash-flow forecast;
• Develop financial models, perform financial due diligence and evaluate potential M&A or investment projects which includes overseeing the deal process, negotiating commercial terms and supporting any other business development;
• Provide guidance to overseas business units in preparation of budgets, analysis and reporting of financial results;
• Prepare and file quarterly GST returns and tax computation;
• Guide and coach internal stakeholders to improve and streamline process workflow, internal controls and compliance; and
• Undertake special projects as and when assigned.

The successful candidate should preferably possess the following:-

• At least a bachelor’s degree with post graduate/ professional qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or Law;
• Strong knowledge and experience in IFRS accounting and reporting is highly valued;
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in Investment, Finance, Accounting, Tax or Audit;
• Experience with Oracle, Anaplan will be an added advantage.
• Possess strong business acumen and a flair for problem solving, financial modelling, planning and analysis;
• Demonstrate leadership and people management skills;
• Strong interpersonal, communication, written and spoken negotiation skills; and
• Committed and self-driven individual with good stress management.

This is a 2-year fixed term role which can be converted to perm or auto-renewed.

The Accountant assists the Finance Manager to perform day to day accounting and finance functions covering all aspects of financial management, financial accounting, budgeting, statutory and internal audit and reporting.

JOB SCOPES

1. Manage financial accounting and reporting functions

• Maintain the accounting system and subsystems, ensure accuracy of data transfer from source systems to accounting system.
• Supervise and review the accounting process for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, General Ledger, Asset Management in accordance with accounting standards and principles.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
